Cdn Prime Minister Harper says he has no desire to prolong Canada’s combat mission in southern Afghanistan beyond 2009
When asked whether he has any desire to prolong the combat mission in southern Afghanistan beyond 2009, Prime Minister Harper said: "No."
"I think Canadians are expecting that if we're in Afghanistan after 2009, it would be a new mission. Canadians have been fairly clear that if we were to be in after 2009, that they would expect our participation to evolve in some way."
"The truth of the matter is NATO still is not putting in near the amount of forces that are necessary to really bring permanent stability to Afghanistan. Canadians have been clear they want to see a more equitable burden-sharing in Afghanistan."
Liberal defence critic Denis Coderre said Harper is lying to Canadians when he suggests his government won't continue its combat role beyond February 2009. The prime minister, he argued, is only selling the message to woo voters.
David Bercuson, director of the Centre for Military and Strategic Studies at the University of Calgary, said Harper would almost certainly extend the mission if he had a majority government.
"He's clearly feeling a lot of heat from the public opinion polls. If he's asking himself what's more important -- that I maintain governance or that I get approval for a combat mission, then a combat mission is coming second."

Jews are facing a “gathering storm” with multiple threats from Iran, Hezbollah, al-Qaida, Hamas and international terrorism unmatched since the 1930s, former justice minister Irwin Cotler told a Jerusalem conference on Tuesday.
(Like most Zionist Extremists, Cotler equates "Israel" with "Jews", a bit of manipulation which denotes contempt for the audience. Meanwhile, it's the Extremists he's aligned with who are responsible for this "threat", and compound it with their plans for Regional War.)
Speaking on the opening day of the Conference on the Future of the Jewish People, Cotler warned that “radical Islam threatens international peace, security and human rights” and moderate Muslims as well as Jews, amounting to an environment Israel hasn’t seen since the rise of Nazi Germany.
("Israel" never saw Nazi Germany. And indeed, similar militant Neo-Fascism has again arisen, but Cotler's a part of it this time 'round. True Radical Islam lacks popular support, and is fairly localized and contained, but the Extremism and Aggression Cotler advocates has done more to feed it than anything else.)
Cotler expressed concerns about a dangerous Mideast threat environment combining Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s Iran with the election of Hamas in Palestinian elections and emergence of the Iran-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon “as a state within a state,” he said in his keynote speech entitled The Gathering Storm.
(But none of these poses a true threat, which Israel's substantial, nuclear-armed military would not be capable of matching. And no-one has made more plots for actual Military Aggression than Israel's Extremists, and their few allies within Western Governments.)
While many of these developments are at least a year old the events “have not only intensified but congealed, constituting now what may be called a gathering storm.” He noted that when Hamas took over the Gaza strip and refugee camps in Lebanon that both erupted in violence due to the infiltration of islamic militants.
(Actually, Hamas acted against corrupted collaborators within Fatah, who were part of a US-Israeli plot to bring down Hamas. The refugee camps in Lebanon were similarly taken over by a group which can be directly linked to Neo-Cons such as Eliot Abrams, which were created to undermine Hezbollah, and further divide the Lebanese.)
“Since last year Iran not only continues to incite a Mideast Holocaust but now also denies that the European one occurred,” he said. “There’s been a quantum leap forward in Iran acquiring lethal atomic capabilities and increased state support for international and Mideast terrorism.”
(Cotler's shameful fearmongering would make Goebbels blush. Iran has still not attempted to create weapons within their nuclear program, and has been cooperating with the International Atomic Energy Agency, whose head has called US-Israeli plots against Iran "an act of Madness". Most of the allegations accusing this planned target of "supporting terrorism" have fallen flat, when actual evidence is requested of the people making the allegations, people who LIED to us all about such threats in the past ...)
Cotler also criticized the United Nations Human Rights Council for passing many resolutions against Israel while letting offending countries off the hook, constituting “a country-specific indictment.”
(Echoing the usual Zionist Propaganda, which ignores the central fact that in all cases, Israel was guilty of the offence in question. Perhaps if Cotler were to use his power to pressure reform within Israel, instead of aiding its aims in Canada, these offences would not have to be condemned so often.)
But Israel can count on geopolitics and allies it didn’t have in the 1930s, he stressed.
(Indeed, as everyone needs oil, and Zionist Extremists like himself have infiltrated several prominent, Hard Right Regimes throughout the West, most notably, the unelected Regime in DC.)
“It is not 1938. There is a Jewish state as an antidote to Jewish vulnerability,” he said. “There are non-Jews prepared to join together in common cause with the Jewish people and Israel’s not alone.” It can count on allies such as Canada and the U.S. as well as developing relations with emerging powers such as China and India.
(Israel is not, Mr. Cotler, "the Jewish People" ...)
“I do believe there is a gathering storm, but there is no inevitability about the negatives,” said the Liberal MP and Opposition Critic for Human Rights.
Indeed, as, while the Neo-Fascists are plotting all-out war against several Arab and Islamic states, the world has seen their failures and their lies before, and may be enough to stop them and their insanity.)
The conference, organized by the Jewish People Policy Planning Institute, brings together Jewish leaders from around the world to discuss strategies to deal with threats and challenges facing Jewish people.
(But mainly, to further Zionist Extremism, and manipulate Jews everywhere to support its aims.)
Some 120 participants, including Israel’s President-elect Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert as well as former U.S. envoy to Israel Dennis Ross, were taking part in the conference.
Reflecting this balance of threats and opportunity, Olmert urged Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to begin direct peace negotiations between the two countries on Tuesday, one day after Olmert reiterated Israel’s determination to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
Olmert has come under pressure to resign after a government report accused him of committing a series of errors in his handling of the war in Lebanon last summer.
The fighting broke out on July 12, 2006 and left 1,100 Lebanese civilians dead, mostly from Israeli air raids, but also killed 163 Israeli soldiers. Hezbollah fired more than 4,000 rockets into Israel (most of which fell into fields, etc. and Israel dropped over a million cluster bombs) before a United Nations-brokered ceasefire was declared on Aug. 14.
(A cease-fire which the Harper Regime helped to obstruct, which Israel has violated almost daily.)

Israel was created to provide an independent nation for the safety of the Jewish people, but everything the government of Israel does makes the world MORE dangerous for the Jewish people, and having cost the American taxpayer four times the entire cost of the Apollo Moon program (and who knows how much from other nations), Israel hardly qualifies as "independent."
The biggest threat against the safety of the world's Jewish people is that Israel wraps the world's Jewish people around itself to deflect criticism of their crimes. Israel intentionally makes the world's Jewish people targets for Israel's own dark purposes.
Nobody threatens Jewish people more than the Extremists who comprise the Israeli Government, and are attempting to get foreign Governments to support the beginnings of World War Three in the name of Jews everywhere.

Truth is indeed stranger and often more frightening than fiction.
What is extraordinary is that as the organized Jewish community in the US and abroad moves further and further towards the fascist right, its power over the US and Western governments is growing even more rapidly.
One need not argue about the validity of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion while there is an ugly conspiracy unfolding before our very eyes, or at least the eyes of those willing to see.
Here in Canada alone, former Jewish organizations have had their popularly-selected boards forced out, and replaced with Zionist "Emergency Cabinets", to deal with the growing condemnation of Israeli Extremism, not by listening to critics and altering behaviour, but by Lobbying our Government, and pumping the Propaganda.
