OTTAWA, ONTARIO, Jul. 25, 2007 (Market Wire delivered by Newstex) -- Everton Resources (TSX VENTURE: EVR)(FRANKFURT: ERV) and joint venture partner Linear Gold (TSX: LRR) are pleased to announce that a 1000-metre trenching program has commenced on the 4045 hectare Ampliacion concession situated in the central Dominican Republic. This concession is adjacent to the northwestern edge of Barrick/Goldcorp's Pueblo Viejo deposit that contains 18.1 million ounces of gold, 2.6 billion pounds of zinc, 358 million pounds of copper and 88 million ounces of silver.

Trench work on the Ampliacion concession by Linear Gold in 2005 encountered significant mineralization grading 11.3 g/t gold and 310 g/t silver over 18 meters. The current 1000-metre trenching program is designed to extend some of Linear Gold's previous trenches and to dig new/parallel trenches at the La Lechoza target in the northern part of the concession. During 1981, the government mining company, Rosario Dominicana, conducted a shallow drill program, which intersected 12.3 g/t gold over 12 meters. Please visit Everton's website at www.evertonresources.com for a surface relief map of the Ampliacion concession illustrating the proximity and similarity to the Pueblo Viejo gold zones.

Everton and Linear are currently conducting a comprehensive soil and rock geochemical survey and geological mapping program on the Ampliacion Concession. To-date over 1000 soil and rock samples spaced over a 100 m x 100 m grid in two different areas within the concession have been collected. The survey will continue until the end of August for a planned total of over 3,000 samples. The samples collected to-date have been shipped to Laboratoire Expert in Rouyn-Noranda and the results are expected by early fall.

Everton and Linear have also recently completed an airborne magnetic and HEM survey flown by Fugro Airborne Services over the entire property. The survey included over 720 kilometres of lines spaced at 100 metre intervals. The data collected is being processed and interpreted at this time.

The Ampliacion concession covers a portion of the entire stratigraphy of the Los Ranchos Formation, including shallow marine/lacustrine carbonaceous sandstone and shale that hosts the Pueblo Viejo mine. The Los Ranchos is overlain by more recent Hatillo Limestone. A recent study by Sillitoe et al. (2006) reports that the basal contact of the Hatillo limestone with the Los Ranchos carbonaceous units shows clear evidence of hydrothermal activity characterized by extensive advanced argillic alteration. The inference is that the Hatillo limestone may have acted as an impermeable lithocap and thus having a decisive factor in the creation and preservation of the Pueblo Viejo deposit.

This press release was prepared under the supervision of Marc L'Heureux, P.Geo., Everton's Vice-President of Exploration, who acts as the 'Qualified Person' as described by NI 43-101.

Everton is well funded and actively exploring in the Opinaca region of James Bay, Quebec where Everton has amassed one of the largest land claims adjacent to Goldcorp's (NYSE:GG, TSX:G) Eleonore gold deposit where Goldcorp recently announced an initial gold resource of 2.8 million ounces. Everton is also actively exploring in the Dominican Republic adjacent to where the world's largest gold mining company, Barrick Gold (NYSE/TSX:ABX) is partnering with Goldcorp to develop, at an estimated cost of $2.3 billion, the Pueblo Viejo deposit, that contains 18.1 million ounces of gold, 2.6 billion pounds of zinc, 358 million pounds of copper and 88 million ounces of silver.
