2 anarchists from Petersburg as well as Chechen from Novgorod Hasan Didigov are still being held in jail in Novgorod. They are suspected of blowing up "Nevsky express" train in Novgorod region which happened on the 13th of August 2007. According to the law people suspected of terrorism may be arrested for 30 days, but we demand their immediate release.
On the 26th of August traditional picket of Antiwar committee took place in the center of Petersburg. Activists were holding banners with slogans "Freedom to Andrey Kalyonov and Denis Zeleniuk!" and "Witch hunt-2007", they spread leaflets about the case and collected money. Up to 50 people participated (pictures here - piter.indymedia.ru/ru/node/3137 )
On the 28th of August anarchists, human rights and antiwar activists organised a picket of solidarity with Petersburg anarchists in Moscow. The picket was not permitted by the authorities, so 6 people were detained and spent a night in a police station. The next day anarchists tried to organise another picket, but Moscow cops did not let them voice their opinion again.
On the 29th of August Andrey Kalyonov finished his hunger strike because his health condition worsened.
The next solidarity action in Petersburg will take place on the 2nd of September. We call for solidarity actions in the first week of September. Demand the end of repressions against anarchists and immediate release of Andrey and Denis!
