Financial Services Wake Up to the Potential of Content Optimisation

Maxymiser Ltd. | 04.09.2007 14:30 | Other Press | London

Four major UK insurance brands join Maxymiser for content optimisation through multivariate testing

London, UK 4 September 2007.

Comparethemarket.com and three other major online insurance brands have enlisted Maxymiser's content intelligence for a comprehensive programme of optimisation. By anticipating the content that visitors want to see, the brands will benefit from greater returns from existing traffic. comparethemarket.com, Budget Insurance, Bennetts and ibuyeco are included in the 12-month deal with the BGL Group.

Clients in the travel, entertainment, retail, recruitment industries plus a major high street bank have launched optimisation campaigns in recent months. They join a growing tide of companies looking to increase returns from visitors in light of the rising cost of good quality traffic from sources such as pay per click.

"With content intelligence, we are moving towards an online world where websites instantly recognise visitor requirements and automatically serve appropriate content, increasing the likelihood of turning a browser into a buyer." commented Mark Simpson, Managing Director, Maxymiser.

Steve Bone, Senior E-Commerce Manager at the BGL Group commented: "We selected Maxymiser for their enthusiasm about optimising online performance and the technologies they have behind them. We look forward to seeing a conversion rate uplift on these four key B2C brands in this highly competitive market."

Maxymiser's clients use automated multivariate testing and segmentation technology to optimise content for groups of visitors dependant upon off-site factors and drive more revenue. More relevant content makes for more visitors converting to customers.

About BGL Group
The BGL Group (the Group), formerly known as Budget Group of Companies, was founded in 1992 and has grown to become one of the UK's largest personal lines insurance intermediaries, through a combination of organic growth and a series of major strategic acquisitions (the last major acquisition was five years ago).
The Group now arranges and administers insurance for over 1.75 million customers. It operates major contact centre operations (Fusion) in Peterborough, Coventry, Sunderland, Peterlee in the UK, and Cape Town, South Africa. The Group currently employs over 2250 people with its head office in Peterborough.
As an intermediary, the Group is able to access a wide range of underwriters, making it highly competitive in the marketplace, offering core products such as motor, home, commercial vehicle and motorcycle insurance. The Group also offers a wide range of supplementary products, which include breakdown cover, legal protection, travel insurance and mortgage payment protection insurance.

In 2006 the Group received 'Intermediary of the Year' (Insurance Age UK Broker Awards) for its outstanding contribution to the insurance industry. In April 2007, the Sunday Times' PricewaterhouseCoopers Profit Track 100 rankings selected the Group as 'one to watch'.

The group's most established brands are Budget Insurance (for car, van and home insurance) and Dial Direct, both of which have consistently provided customers with competitively priced personal lines insurance products.
BISL Ltd, part of the BGL Group, is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
