a basement, coffee & cake, a 5k rig, noise-core !!!

class a audio @ next to nowhere

a new friendship was forged today as livrpoolsocialcentrcollektiv proudly invited those lovely class a audio boys to come and hang out, drink coffee, eat cake....oh, & make some serious noise!

wow, do these peeps know how to make noise!!!

at first i was kinda wonderin where all our lovely friends would stand as cables snaked across the floor, green speakers multiplied in all corners & the biggest bass drum in the world somehow made its way downstairs, as it took 2 1/2 hours to construct the stage...

working on leftie time, we started at about 4:30,

'monobrow' opened proceedings in their inimitable child-core way. it was loud, it was proud, there was definitely no beats. sweet!

'big dog scary' did not actually shake the new plaster from the ceiling, however their sound can only be described as pacman on nitrous...nice!

'phullopium dude' slowed things down a touch, in a blink and you've missed it set of sublime beauty.

then came 'b.p.a.t.t.'
the bastard offspring of the legend that is a.p.a.t.t.
& what a f*ckin love child was birthed today.
discordant cacophonies, a ticking clock, whipped cream & a heroic amount of apple pie. (i'm afraid you just had to be there.)

'shawn greenlee/pleasurehorse' morphed from jekyll into hyde before my eyes, enticing pictures to make sounds on his custom built synthesiser gadgetry, oh so wrong yet oh so right...

unfortunately, shiggy (or after today that "little bugger") didn't materialise as he missed his morning train & then managed to fail in his endeavours to board a bus. bad dj scotch egg!

which leaves us with "white mice", described as "immense & semi-brutal rodent doom" and the owners of the aforementioned biggest bass drum in the world. & f*ck me, that drum got a beating! but then so did the guitars, the saxophone, the microphones & anyones ears in the vicinty of bold street & beyond. it's hard to describe just how 3 mice in bloodstained labcoats sound but i can say that i was up on a chair & dancing my little socks off with very little knowledge of how i got there & absolutley no inclination of gettin down.
raw, passionate, exquisite, i guess you can say i was captivated...

next to nowhere laid on an impressive array of vegan cakes which were eagerly gobbled up with the tasty & ethically sound zapatista coffee washing them all down.

as i was by the entire day. & as we cleaned up all traces of what had gone on, we may have had aching muscles but there was definitely smiley faces & a sense of a job well done.

we look forward to another collaboration with class a audio in december, when we will discuss the crassness of a capitalist xmas.
