Global Call-in Continues Jan 2-4: Hands off the Uhuru Movement

UhuruNews.com | 03.01.2008 05:23 | Anti-racism | Social Struggles | Workers' Movements | World

Boley Center is attacking the Uhuru Movement through illegal firings, a false arrest, and taking away people's housing vouchers – effectively throwing them out on the street. The only connection to all these incidents is that all these people are supporters of the Uhuru Movement. Boley is violating freedom of speech, freedom of association, federal housing and worker's rights! Now the Uhuru Movement is uncovering and exposing Boley Center's culture of larceny!

- Below, find out what evidence of Boley's culture of larceny the
Uhuru Movement has uncovered.

- Get the YouTube link to the video created by the Uhuru Movement
informing people of the details of this whole campaign.

- Participate in the International Call-in to demand "Hands off the Uhuru
Movement - Stop the Attacks"!

From friends of the CEO to the family of the Director of Operations at
Boley, housing vouchers and monies were being used for personal
reasons. Auditors are saying Boley's missing $1 million - so where's
the money? It's not in the African community!

****************************************************************

Boley's in trouble by auditors for losing a million dollars. Their
response was to illegally fire two longstanding employees, Housing
Manager Angelia Waller and Housing Specialist Valerie Sanders,
giving them no reason and refusing to pay them for work done. Boley
manufactured false charges against Sanders and had her arrested for
"fraud", of which she is innocent.

At the same time, several long-time residents of Boley's low-income
housing were given notices that they would lose their HUD subsidy,
effectively giving them eviction notices - even though they had all
passed Boley's rigorous screening process. They were not given a
reason, a trial or allowed the opportunity to come into compliance, if
they were indeed found to be out of compliance.

The only thing all of these people had in common is their support of the
Uhuru Movement. No one else was targeted.

This is a violation of free speech, association and federal housing laws
and workers rights!
