EDITORIAL March 2008

www.ForcesParcels.com

ForcesParcels.com is a UK based internet shop designed to facilitate the needs of thousands of relatives whose loved ones are serving abroad. Since the Launch in July 2007 it has developed the website to meet peoples requirements and help them keep in touch by sending a parcel or message whenever they want anywhere in the world.

ForcesParcels.com is proud to present a range of new products for 2008.

NEW FOR 2008:

Sending Parcels to the U.S Forces:
We have now established a new area where people can order to U.S. Forces serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Simply select the APO option rather than BFPO from the drop down menu, it’s that easy! Remember, sending from the UK decreases the postage costs that families in the US have to incur.

Forces Favourites
We have combined all of our best selling products into a range of great boxes. The ‘Forces Favourites’ 2kg boxes are proving to be a real success, packed full of best sellers.

Bakery Box
The Bakery section is consistently in the top 5 most visited pages on the site. Demand has resulted in the introduction of the ‘Bakery Box’; it has a selection of the most popular bakery products from our range, all freshly baked and ready to go.

Exclusive for 2008:
‘Forces Messenger’ is a brand new service, unique to ForcesParcels.com. This service can be accessed from any home PC and will enable families and friends to record a video message and send to loved ones so they can keep up to date with all the news from home. The video can be sent to any email address and watched over and over again.
ForcesParcels.com will be launching this service in late spring. Visit the home page for more information

www.ForcesParcels.com is dedicated to Forces and their friends and families and has been working hard to develop the web site for easier use. It has seen continued success and to date has sent hundreds of boxes to destinations all over the world, primarily to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Notes to Editors:
• ForcesParcels.com was formed in 2006 with www.ForcesParcels.com launched in July 2007.
• www.forcesparcels.com is an online shop dedicated to HM forces and their friends and families all over the world. It enables users to send gift boxes, shop for general items, and send flowers and chocolates to your loved ones, order outdoor equipment and clothing, sports and nutrition, gifts and gadgets and much more.
• 24 hr BBC news facility, chat forum, calendar facility and tools to enable the transmission of photos.
• The founders of ForcesParcels.com have served in the armed forces and understand the pressures and strains of being away for long periods of time, how it can affect a state of mind not being in touch with what is going on at home. They realise that it is difficult to get items that you require when you are abroad. With the internet facility being available in most areas including Iraq and Afghanistan, it enables people in the forces to have some connection with life outside their work but time is limited to 20 minutes a week. It was always their aim to incorporate a site, which could accomplish all the tasks that the user would require in such a short time. From the family perspective, there is always a need for the friends and families of loved ones to feel that they are in some way helping members of the armed forces abroad and giving something back. Up until now it has been very difficult for friends and family to feel as if they are helping but with www.forcesparcels.com they can personalise the boxes they send with a free letter in a box and keep in touch with regular updates using the chat forum.
• With operations such as Iraq and Afghanistan being a long-term commitment for our forces we need to help them in whatever way we can, and www.forcesparcels.com aims to do this.
