JJ along with many of the others were arrested for conspiracy to blackmail huntingdon life Scieneces and the companies who deal with HLS. Three of the activists arrested that day weere remanded in prisonand are still there to this date awaiting their trial along with a few of the others on bail in september of this year.
A few of the other activsts inc JJ have been on bail since may last year without charge. but as of today march 19, most of the remaining activists including JJ were charged with conspiracy to blackmail amoungst other charges. A trial shall be held for them early next year


The arrests in may last year were part of a 2 year investigation by various police forces around the UK which included phone tapping, surveillance and covert operations by the police. 16 people have now been charged the rest were released without charge

All of the people charged if found guilty face prison sentences and some of them very long prison sentences.

The ones not remanded have the following bail conditions;
:Not allowed to contact each other
:They must live and sleep at their home addresses.
:Surrender their passport
:Not allowed to orgainize or take part in any AR demos in the UK or abroad.
:Not allowed to contact HLS, its workers or any companies involved with HLS.
:Not allowed to post any info on any Animal rights websites or publications.

JJ has been around the London punk scene for a few years and is a well known, liked and respected in London up and down the country for being a passionate activist, supporting the punk scene, putting on benefit gigs and playing in Active slaughter

We the other members of Active Slaughter would like you all to support JJ over the coming months and the other people charged by supporting the ALF SG and the VPSG.

The ALF-SG (animal liberation front supporters group) help a lot of Ar activsts with legal costs and transport costs.

The VPSG (vegan prisoner support group) help vegans in prison by supplying them with products suitable for vegans inc toiletries and snacks and they also make sure that the prisons supply vegans with enough vegan food every day

So we ask that you Support JJ and the others by donating and supporting the VPSG and the ALF-SG over the coming months because with so many people on trial now these 2 groups are going to need all the funds they can get.

This trial (or trials as there are so many charged it is being split into two different trials) will be a very important trial not only for animal rights activists in the UK but also for activsts in general. this is the government, police and big companies trying to silence us all and we stand together EVERYONE as one over this and support these people on trial because whatever the outcome of this trial it is sure to have a big effect on the future of activism in this country

JJ’s part as an actvist is currently over for the time being due to bail restrictions.
But he will continue to play in and be a big part of Active Slaughter and support the benefits we play, and continue to get our message out until the day they lock him up and throw away his key so to speak.

JJ isn't the only one being set up here.

The first major "conspiracy" trial involving animal rights activists is happening NOW mon - fri 10.30am, court 9, Birmingham crown court. 2 weeks to go in a 15 week trial.

Anyone know if active slaughter did any benefit gigs for the above mentioned activists trial costs??
