Protest against the BNP's party political broadcast 21.04.08

BBC worker | 21.04.2008 08:15 | Anti-racism | London

The British National Party's (BNP) party political broadcast is scheduled to take place on Monday 21 April at 6.55pm (today).

The BNP is standing candidates in the London Mayoral and Assembly elections and will be standing 625 candidates in the local elections in England and 29 in Wales. The party political broadcast will be broadcast throughout England.

The BNP is a fascist organisation, not a legitimate political party, with explicitly racist, sexist, homophobic policies. Only two weeks ago the BNP were again exposed. Nick Erikson one of the BNP candidates in London was forced to withdraw his candidacy, after he was exposed for writing sexist, racist and offensive comments on a blog in which he uses the name "Sir John Bull" visit (www.uaf.org.uk) for quotes from his blog.

Confused...

21.04.2008 09:06

I'm confused. If the BNP is not a legitimate political party, how are they able to stand in the local elections? Do you mean that, in you opinion, they should not be regraded as a legitimate political party? If so, and that is of course a valid position to hold, why do you portray yourself as someone who has the authority to decide unilaterally what is legitimate and what is not legitimate? Your approach sounds worringly fascist and authoritarian...

nice article, Bonkers party are illegitmate, terroristic, childmurdering nutters

21.04.2008 10:30

The Bonkers party are illegitmate, terrorist, childmurdering abusive nutters.
People like Griffin need to be sectioned& medicated with something to make him human, he is a absolute nutter, spoilt Toff, pc apartheid nazi liar & a comrade of people like Abu Hamza who he shared jokes, hob nobs & tea with at Oxford.
Why the hell do hardworking good people have to waste their time stopping him & his kinds bullshit. BBC & ITN journalists have right to not be forced to broadcast their lying advert, rights& views of workers should be respected.
How dare they use the union jack our families fought under to stop his kind in world war 2, back to pit of Mordor.

No doubt IMC is being bombarded by trolls on this one, havent you lot got something better to do, like real work?, instead of inbred shit stirring

sian berry has spoken out against BNP, is against ID cards for true green london,
they need help canvassing asap, BNP have been bused into London.
Greens are best party who support consensus & delegation + workers more than any other party, especially UK greens, so what if German Greens mistakes, no ones perfect, some Muslims & anarchist supported invasion of Afghanistan too.
people love green with some red & black

Seems to me

21.04.2008 14:00

That whenever the BNP speaks it just digs itself into a massive hole.

Surely the best thing to do is to encourage them, once they start ranting the respectable outer coating quickly falls away.

It seems a simple question from 'Confused'. Who granted 'BBC worker' the right to determine which parties standing for the upcoming local elections are legal and which are illegal?

Joe Blow

authoritarians?

21.04.2008 15:43

Their message is not as subtle as the fascist shite the BBC usually puts out. As for the White Season - more middle class twats hunting out the usual suspects for their distorted report. Or the covergae of Israel, Iraq or any other corporate fascist endevour. Check out the crap that Maitliss spews on Newsnight etc.or London Tonight...jeeez. Mainstream tv news coverage may as well have swastickas on it but that would give the game away. Scratch a liberal middle class and you will find a nazi hippocrite.

let 'em broadcast

22.04.2008 18:49

I've never known any organisation with the capacity for shooting their own feet like the BNP: every time they open their mouths they lose support. I'd say let em broadcast, at least that way the horrible little tossers are out in the open and can be monitored
