Middle Classes Turn on Boris

riotact | 01.06.2008 13:10 | London

In scenes which would have made the Bullingdon Club proud, last night's jolly japes on the tube got a bit messy after the British Transport Police began closing stations before stopping the two trains containing most of the party goers at Edgeware Road Station.

Tensions flared briefly outside the station after police drew batons and a slight scuffle almost broke out, but in reality the well dressed hordes, pissed as they were, seemed reluctant to be drawn into violence.

Whilst not what you'd call a political event the chants of 'Boris is a wanker!' echoed around the Circle Line showing how even well to do Londoners feel about having the chinless one hijack our city.

Attempts to get the crowd singing 'Harry Roberts' didn't go down quite so well.

Reports of trashed tube carriages are an over-exaggeration on the part of a strangely absent media, the reality being a lot of litter and a few ads ripped down.

The revolution did not start here.

Apparantly things had got a bit livelier around Liverpool Street, which we didn't see, but one hardy soul told us it was the closest he'd seen to a riot in London for years. Perhaps it's fitting that the first signs of unrest should come from Boris' natural constituency, expect more and far worse over the next four years as his economic policies start to bite.

Meanwhile most people seemed resolute in their intention to completely ignore this daft new law (which isn't even a law) that tube workers say is unenforceable.

Some poor bloody tube drivers and underground workers............ you tosser.

As I said in response to your previous post:

You managed to assault 4 tube drivers and three other members of staff.

Fantastic, I'm sure you must be really proud of yourself..... Well done.

What 'Fun event' are you organising next week? Burn an A&E nurse party?

Bob

What!!!

Middle classes turn on Boris!!

Don't make me larf. So is this the way its going to be then. Labour activists trying to pretend they are 'normal' to get city hall back under labour control. Face it moron, the people kicked your nerd out and opted for the cons.why?

because even the cons are better than this load of communists we have in government. Go into opposition with some grace and understand that the people have turned against you and yours.

There aint gonna be no more labour corruption, there aint gonna be no more rascist wars and there aint gonna be no more class war crap.

Your out so face it idiot.

no bob, no

Read what jonnyvoid said again: he never said the party was a good idea or that he supported the revelers. In fact he is quite hostile towards them for being 'pissed up city boys'. He noted, with some feverish speculation i might add, that they sang 'boris is a tosser' and this somehow meant they had 'turned' on the man someone must have bloody elected.* He never called the tube drivers or staff 'middle class'.

So basically, calm down, sit down, get down to the brand new sound. Oh yeah.

*has anyone met someone who did? I haven't.

The old left, but far too late...

01.06.2008 17:41

*Oh right, so now it must be a fraud!

Johnnyvoid has posted a blatantly provocative piece on Indymedia and tried to coach it in terms of some kind of central ground revolt against the man that London has just voted into office. Doesn't wash fella.

just looks like another Labourista sham. Why would they revolt not 5 minutes after electing him?

just face the truth, your red twat is history and now your trying to get back to the old days of subversion because, after all, isn't that what Labour is really about. They can't do anything right in government and have made an utter pigs ear of the last ten years in office. Now we have a con mayor you just can't take it can you. This is the truth, you can't riot while YOUR government is in office but you can against the cons. While labour rule the left is redundant but while the cons rule the left is back to its old tricks. Its vile.

Your just a lifestyle bully boy. But don't worry, it will all be over soon.

Alcohol not the problem

01.06.2008 22:55

There are plenty of people who drink alcohol who do not cause violence. Those who commit violence are using the alcohol as an excuse for their usual behaviour because it is in their nature to do that anyway - & the alcohol lowers inhibitions.

I was not there but in this article ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7429638.stm) it was the banker who intended to drink responsibly and not cause trouble. It was the sailor (probably not exactly a middle class occupation), who intended to go round until he vomited.
