Dr Kurtz was charged under the Patriot Act in 2004 with bio-terrorism,
after sending material to Dr Ferrell which formed part of their dialogue
with modernity/biotech and art expression.

A lesser charged was preffered against him by the US Dept of Justice:
'Wire and Mail fraud'.
Dr Kurtz's health collapsed and he agreed to the lesser charge.
The Courts in the US have rejected the charges against Dr Kurtz:
"insufficent on it's face", meaning that even if the charges alleged in the
indictment against Dr Kurtz were true, they would not constitute a crime.
