Hereford Police - Carnival Against Vivisection

NETCU WATCH | 13.08.2008 20:04 | Stop Sequani Animal Testing | Birmingham

The police are beginning to get a bit worried. Chris D and Lyn Sawyer called by Shane Hancock of Hereford Police asking for 'organizers' of "Carnival Against Vivisection"

Around 8pm this evening (13.08.08) activists from WARN received a phone call from Hereford Police asking if they would like to meet up and liaise with officers regarding the proposed unauthorized event "Carnival Against Vivisection" - 6th September.

The officer simply wanted a "quick chat" with activists about the event. Unfortunately neither were willing to talk. After all the last "leader" of the Sequani Campaign was Sean Kirtley.

Sean Kirtley was found guilty under Section 145 of the SOCPA law for “Interfering with the contractual relationships of a Laboratory” for allegedly organising protests at Sequani Limited and associated business associates. Police say disorder took place on a occasions during protests and claim as the organiser that Sean is responsible for any criminality that takes place.

It has become clear now that the police are now looking for someone to take responsibility for the event.

After the actions taken against the climate camp, the last question is how far are the police willing to go next?

More raids? More arrests? More injustice?

Maybe it's because of the resent slip ups?
NETCU Handbook now available along with a number and email add?
The 4.5million spent on putting one person away?
The temporary CLOSURE of the cooling system?
The failure to get into the Climate Camp?
We could go all day NETCU.

FOR THE OFFICERS READING THE ARTICLE. IT APPEARS THIS NEEDS TO BE REITERATED, FOR THE SAKE OF BOTHERING OTHER ACTIVISTS, THERE ARE NO EVENT ORGANISERS, THERE IS NOBODY TO HOLD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS EVENT.

Regards,

NETCU WATCH ;)

Cops Own Goal...

13.08.2008 21:07

The cops really have shot themselves in the foot with their over-excited policing, semi-legal handbooks and general fairytale law enforcement now haven't they.

The time has come for them to learn that they can try and suppress protest movements as much as they want - but even their most desperate and underhanded attempts are still not enough. The more they throw at us, the more we just fight back and get stronger. At the end of the day coppers, what we have on our side isn't a pathetic paycheque, its the moral highground, and the commitment to doing the right thing in a world that is increasingly destructive and greedy.

Try throwing people into jail? You'll drive more underground to illegal direct action.
Try labelling people as leaders of peaceful demonstrations? You'll get feisty demonstrations with NO leaders.
Try targeting legal campaign groups? We'll reorganise, regroup and carry on. There is NO way to stop this NETCU.

no justice
just us.
SEE YOU AT THE CARNIVAL

We are all the organisers - We are all Section 145!

They do have SUCH a problem don't they?

Sean Kirtley was not responsible for ALL the "damage" done to Sequani through the legal protests and NO criminal damage. Everyone who protested, handed out leaflets, called suppliers, wrote polite letters to customers, the media and spread the news were responsible and still are for the criminal act of expressing your freedom of speech.

He was given 4.5 years because the conspiracy goes he apparently encouraged all of these legal protest activities and nobody else was responsible, not even the protesters! Even Animal Aid (the UKs largest Animal Rights organisation) think so!

From their news bulletin: "The unduly harsh treatment that some animal rights campaigners have received from the police and courts has broadly remained unremarked upon by the national media. In May, Sean Kirtley was sentenced to four-and-a-half years under the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act for campaigning against the animal-testing laboratory, Sequani Ltd. Now that Kirtley is appealing his conviction, important sectors of the media are reporting on the case. Quoted in The Independent this week, Kirtley’s solicitor said: ‘This is an unfair law which deviates from normal principles of criminal justice and the result is that what many people might see as conventional protesting becomes criminalised at all levels.’"

For the first time EVER activists are ALL taking responsibility for an event. We are all the organisers because we are all promoting it - there is no website, there is no contact! From Yorkshire to Swansea, Oxford to London, SHAC to SchNews, 325 Collective to the Animal Rights Calendar and throughout Europe. We are all CAV.

Fight back - for your freedom to protest - for the animals - for Sean! Put the posters on YOUR websites, tell YOUR friends, let everyone know, before its too late. Let the state know that we are all CAV. Show that YOU are not longer willing to accept NETCU, SOCPA and the police state, which is a fully functioning operation by our corrupt government.

Ever thought your freedoms were unjustly taken from you? SOCPA so far only renders anti-vivisectionists as criminals, then it was Climate Campers, next it will be all environmental and anti-war campaigns. Do not let this happen. Make Socpa History.
