Medical Justice Training and Supervision for Visitors / Befrienders
Saturday 13th September – 10am to 4pm
Venue : Bedford.

Aim of the training ;
1. Help befrienders offer the most effective support they can to vulnerable women detainees.
2. Reduce befriender burn-out by giving guidance and support.
The training is delivered by professionals within the Medical Justice network, including a barrister, GPs, a nurse, a psychiatrist, a pediatrician, and experienced visitors to immigration detainees.
Topics to include ; Legal process overview, Deterioration of health, Torture Survivors, Pregnancy, Gender-based Persecution, Mental Health, HIV, Children in detention, Trafficking, Assaults, Rule 35, Medical Justice referrals, Accessing support, Making Complaints, Anti Burn-Out Advice, Questions & Answers.

Medical Justice do essential work and have made the difference to stop deportations, undoubtedly saving lives.
