AZAD (INDEPENDENT) KASHMIR MOVEMENT IN THE CONTEXT OF NATIONAL QUESTION IN INDIA
PUBLIC MEETING AT 2 P.M. ON SATURDAY, 4TH OCTOBER 2008, RALPH ROAD, BIRMINGHAM B8
After having a long struggle in exploring the Kashmir question, the Kashmiri Workers Association ‘Britain’ have, eventually, decided to launch the third phase of the Azad Kashmir Movement and to open a debate on the Azad Kashmir Movement in the context of national question in India.
Kashmir is a divided state and an annexed colony of Pakistan and Bharat. The forced division of Kashmir into Bharati Occupied Kashmir, Pakistani Occupied Northern Kashmir and Pakistani Occupied Southern Kashmir is the direct result of a military plan against Azad Kashmir Movement hatched by Mountbatten, the British ruler of ‘free Bharat’ in 1947. The Kashmir question reflects the fact that the national question in India remains unresolved.
To find out about the first, second and third phases of the Azad Kashmir Movement and the interrelationship between the Kashmir question and the unresolved national question in India come to the public meeting.
First Session: 2.00 – 4.30 p.m.
A short introduction to the declaration of Azad Republic of Kashmir made on 4th October 1947 will follow explaining the first, second and third phases of the Azad Kashmir Movement, and formal launching of the ‘Kashmiri Worker’ and the third phase of the Azad Kashmir Movement. There will be speeches from various Kashmiri nationalist organisations and messages of solidarity and support from fraternal organisations and individuals.
Second Session: 5.00 – 7.00 p.m.
