Global Novartis knock down

SHAC GLOBAL | 28.10.2008 23:07 | Animal Liberation

Across the world on Monday 27th October, people held demos as part of Novartis Knockdown day! And boy were Novartis Knocked over!

ITALY:

For Scary Scence Week we could not let our favourite target in Italy go wihout any demo at all. So we took to the streets in the early morning and were at the gates of Novartis Italian headquarters at 8.00 am to greet hundreds of workers entering for another day of work inside a company abusing both animals and humans.

Novartis has been voted as the worst and most evil multinational corporation in the world just a few months ago, and we always try to remember this to their workers, since helping HLS and funding so many experiments on animals is surely part of this evil attitude.

The demo was angry and vocal as usual, with our voices heard and our placards impossible not to be seen by all the people passing by the protest. They already know us very well, and all the people working for other companies that share the same area immediately show their passes and receive the good treatment... for the others that work at Novartis there is all our anger at a company that is still one of the main reasons why HLS keeps torturing animals everyday.

For the animals we will fight. Novartis drop HLS!

CHILE:

We arrived at the building where Novartis’ offices are in Santiago, Chile, with some cops waiting for us in a normal “surveillance” to our protests here. Before the demo some activists tried to get inside the office to hand out leaflets to the workers from Novartis, but a guard was in the doors of the elevator and did not allow them to enter their office.

Later, a worker from Novartis told us during the demo that the office was not allowing any public today, and they did not allow him to get in to work while the demo was going on. So the demo had made things worse for the offices. Was Novartis a bit sensitive to the day of action today?

As usual people came close to the protest to learn more about the dirty and bloody Novartis’ dealings with HLS and showed their support, also cars beeped to express agreement with us.

After finishing the demo, we decided it was a good idea to visit another HLS customer, so we went to GSK’s offices to show people the cruelty and horrors that are being paid for by this company.

As long as you pay HLS for killing and torturing animals, you deal with us. This doesn’t stop ‘till we see HLS closed down!

NETHERLANDS:

We started our Scary Science Week day 2 at the office of Novartis in Amsterdam. Today it was the international action day against Novartis as well. With a group of dedicated SHAC activists we went up to their office to name and shame the freaks of Novartis. It's the Scary Science Week so no rest for the freaks who are responsible for the killing of animals in HLS. It's you who have to decide to stop dealing with HLS, we will be the ones informing everyone of your dealings with them until you do. You can't hide Novartis. When we say we want you to stop dealing with HLS, we will make you stop. We made a promise to the animals in HLS and to the animals who died in HLS that we will close this hellhole forever. Better act quick Novartis, SHAC will be popping up at your offices when you won't expect us.

Next stop was NYSE Euronext in the city centre of Amsterdam. We just arrived at the right time as all the workers came out going back to their expensive houses telling their family what a great day they had, NOT! We named and shamed every single coward of NYSE Euronext that came walking out. We are more angry then ever NYSE Euronext and you'll never stop us until HLS will be kicked of NYSE Arca. Just remember what SHAC is capable of, we have stopped some of the biggest financial and pharmaceutical companies of the world. We already got HLS kicked off NYSE Euronext once already, why not again? It's your decision NYSE Euronext, but a decision we made within our heart will never change, you'll never get rid of us if you don't make the right decision. See you next time NYSE Euronext.

SWITZERLAND:

A small but determined group of activists demonstrated in front of the gates of Novartis Consumer Health SA in Nyon, Switzerland. To show support for the day of action against Novartis, one of the main customers of HLS. They know what cruelty they are responsible for in Huntingdon Life Sciences and in their own labs. To will not give up our protests Novartis, your company will be surnominious with animal cruelty.

The protest lasted over 2 hours and continued in the heavy rain. Novartis, stop dealing with HLS and close down your animal labs!"

We will be back to protest more and to name and shame you Novartis, you know you shouldn't deal with HLS. How many exposes does there need to be before you stop using such a disgusting company?
