Before reading this, you should appreciate that there are very strict limitations on what we are allowed to print and we intend to stay strictly within the law in the comments that we allow.
Having said all that, this breach of data security is startlingly bad for the BNP, not simply for the fact that the party has lost data - almost everyone seems to have managed to do that recently - but for the nature of that information.
Not only does the data, now available online, include the entire membership list with full names (and former names where there have been changes for any reason), addresses, contact numbers, email addresses and in many cases the member's age, particularly where those members are under eighteen. Yes, that's right. This list includes members as young as fourteen, male and female. Where a family membership is bought and paid for, the whole family is listed.
As if this isn't bad enough, the notes that are attached to many of the entries leave a lot of the members open to difficulties in their jobs, some of them being in the armed forces or the police and the BNP too - an illegal combination, and where not illegal, frequently frowned upon. Other members are noted as construction managers, receptionists, district nurses, lay preachers, police officers, company directors and teachers among many others.
Like this wasn't enough, the BNP has also listed hobbies or interests where for some reason they are deemed relevant. Thus we have short-wave radio hams, amateur historians, pagans, line-dancers and even a witch (male)...

I think by now it is obvious that this story is true, so here the two choices that UAF are faced with -
*Put that membership list in the public domain, so individual antifascists can decide for themselves how to act
Or
*Show themselves up to be an authoritarian, ineffectual pressure group
If that info gets a bit more public, this could be the end of the BNP - home demos, leafleting neigbours, alterting workplaces etc - we could seriously fuck the BNP up!

You also have to remember the list was stolen (not lost as this article suggests), so to use that information as a basis for dismissal or any legal action would be very dubious practice that could backfire with absolutely spectular results both legally and in the press.
Let's just hope no one gets hurt over this, because some of these comments seem to be hinting at taking direct action at anyone of the 10,000 people which is very, very disturbing.

I do agree with your point, because it goes totally against Equity laws - discrimination based on political views. I think they call this 'good discrimination' which is ok, as opposed to 'bad discrimination' which shouldn't be allowed.
If someone challenged a sacking, I bet they would probably win a big payout because the equity and human rights laws would certainly override police policy that has not been tested.

Thinking about it, they may have actually joined the bnp for religious views (ie. islamophobic) and not racial reasons that you seem to presume.

We have known our neighbour is a fascist for some time, it took 2 years to work out who was leaving the BNP calling cards on our doorstep, knocking on our door and then running off. This was intimidation pure and simple. I was actually a little bit fearful until I worked out who it was. Then I laughed.
I am seeking some sort of retribution on the person who used these intimidation tactics.
Yes I know not to sink to their level and an eye for an eye and a tooth or a tooth is not always the best route to take. But, what right has one human being got to make others live in fear?
Intelligent, non-illegal, maybe immoral ideas welcome :)

Police (dont know about Prison) officers are not allowed to be a member of the BNP (as well as freemasons) - it doesnt matter if they take an active role or not - you declare your membership - not what you do.

This type of comment is scary. Lets imagine that you are a child and that your mum or dad paid up to join the BNP and now your family home address is on this list.
So the 'antifacists' 'act' and you get caught up in it too - is this really fair on the children of these people ?
Also - what about people that have moved house - this list is fairly old now. It also mentions that some of the people on the list have never been members. Please think about these aspects before doing something stupid.

You could try educating them. Send them anti-fascist literature on a regular basis.
You could make everyone that provides a public service to them, like their postman, that they are members.
If they work, inform their colleagues.
You can stick a copy of local names up on local message boards. Best to verify first hand that they are members.
You can legally chalk the pavement outside their house.
You could organise an ethnically themed street party outside their house.

Here is some good advice for those on the list.
Like Griffin said, the information is out, so pucker up and be brave, or choose to be sensible and deny you have anything to do with the BNP. If you are on the list and you are not male, 18-60 and an activist then you have nothing to fear from any anti-fascist.
Now would be a suicidly-stupid time for the BNP hardcore to try and escalate matters.
