"Gunned down by idiot cops. That's life hey?" the message left on the myspace page of a 15 year old boy killed by police in Australia.
A 15 year old boy has been shot dead in a skate park in Australia after allegedly threatening police with knives he had stolen from a department store. Someone called the police after he had been spotted acting 'erratically'. The police claim they fired warning shots, and even if all this is true, does it justify fully grown coppers shooting a teenage boy several times? Surely they're trained to take people down safely? Especially someone who doesn't have a gun, who is smaller than them, just a kid who nicked some knives.
The boy is said to be a member of a naionalist organisation called Southern Cross. This is mentioned in the article as though it is somehow relevant but without any real explanation. Anyone shed any light?

Often I see people ashamed to be Australia, who would rather call themselves "ethnics". Whilst that is their background and they have every right to be proud of their heritage. They have to acknowledge the fact that they are Australian. I consider them no more or less Australian than I. We are not racist, we want to unite this nation, not divide it."

Don't know why they think English is any less "Australian" than any other language, seeing as the English are fairly recent immigrants to Australia themselves, having brought racism and ethnic cleansing with them.
Also has jingoistic images of Australian soldiers.
The "Southern Cross Soldiers" also seem to glorify the Cronulla race riots:

Unpleasant people certainly, but even 15-year-old little shits don't deserve to get shot by the cops. If they were a little older then I'd say good riddance, but at 15 you are just a kid, and who hasn't done things at that age they now regret?

If you try to kill someone who is armed with a gun, anyone can calculate the risks and can workout that the consequences will be life threatening. Its no different from jumping off a tall building or playing chicken with a train.
This is a great example of natural selection in action.
