perhaps if the medics weren't wielding batons with their colleagues prior to attending the "collapsee" there might not have been any confusion. on who to through the bottles at.

unclear circumstances

On Sky News yesterday late evening it was said that the protester died at about 7 - 7.30 pm at arrival on hospital with the ambulance, and that both ambulance and police had confirmed his death. It was said that the cause of his death was unclear but that he had no apparent outer wounds or so. According to mainstream media the man collapsed at the protest site of the Bank of England and ambulance found him breathing on arrival.

It was just a matter of time something like this would occur. When the police pen such large numbers in such small places, heavily restricting their movement and not allowing them the opportunity to leave, people's discomfort levels and, of course, illnesses (be it respiratory, heart etc) exasperate. This is nothing less than Murder, and the blood is on the hands of the police....once again.

from my experience of treating people at demos, this guy most likely died as a direct result of a blow to the head up to several hours BEFORE he collapsed.

a lot of deaths in police custody or on demonstrations stem from being hit on the head, getting severely concussed (or what we medics call 'compression') but not being diagnosed as such straight away. people with severe concussion or compression often get angry, dizzy and confused, and the symptoms can't usually be discerned from the symptoms of drunkenness until it's too late.

The talk is of an investigation by the IPCC. This will be another whitewash as all those in the past

We must now allow the killers to get away with it again. How many deaths are they responsible for? Look at Jean Charles de Menezes, Harry Stanley etc, when were they ever brought to account? There should be a total boycott of the "official" channels and we do an investigation instead. An examination by peers which will give a fair hearing under Article 6 European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.

The Guardian isn't much better either but it's decided to perform it's basic duty and interviewed some eye-witnesses from the crowd of protesters.
