Compression of the crowd.
A large police operation unfolds with the intention of qualifying a violent encounter with protesters.
All exits and entrances to the junction are closed and police begin to compress the crowd together. Throughout, police refuse to allow people to leave.
A short time later officers withdraw just passed RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland) sacrificing it for political reasons. The bank is then attacked.
As the day drags on police continue to compress the crowd causing a number of serious injuries.
