BRING RADIOS SO THAT WE CAN MAKE OUR OWN MUSIC!
ARRIVE EARLY - WEAR RED
For centuries Mayday has brought people together and out onto the streets.
People danced for the coming summer and the fertility of the crops. People marched in remembrance and solidarity with their fellow workers around the world. People gathered in their cities to fight against global capital and exploitation.
Smash EDO invites you to a celebration of all these aspects of Mayday.
In Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine there are people who will never plant another seed, work in safety or control what they produce. These are the people whose lives have been destroyed by war and occupation, and whose pain is transferred into profit by the arms trade. The war machine can only exist through the demands of international capital and the greed of industry. There has been a long, vibrant campaign to stop these war profiteers in the city of Brighton -come and be a part of it...
Come dance, fight and remember the victims of ITT.
Smash EDO has been campaigning for over four years to close down EDO MBM/ITT. EDO produce arms components which are used against civilians around the world. Smash EDO will not give up until we close the factory down. Last year hundreds of people from around the country cam to the 'Carnival Against the Arms Trade' and 'Shut ITT' demonstrations. Since then a network of anti-militarist groups has begun working together against the war machine across the UK. If EDO closes it will send shockwaves through the UK arms industry. We want this to be the biggest show of force yet against EDO.

What you can do to help:
We need people to be local contacts for their area and to arrange transport and/or meeting points from around the country! If you would be willing to do this please e-mail us and we will include you on the web-site.
Are you a medic or experienced legal observer and would like to help on the day? E-mail us to let us know.
Make and bring sound systems, street party material, noise equipment, you own affinity groups and anything else you can think of!
If you can not make it on the day but still want to contribute to the party spirit (or just have some spare cash), please consider donating some money to the campaign. See http://www.smashedo.org.uk/donate.htm for instructions on how to do this.
There will also be an
ANTI-MILITARIST GATHERING taking place in Brighton during the 2nd-3rd of May. It will be held at the Cowley Club and will aim to support the Smash EDO Mayday mobilisation, plan resistance to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in November in Edinburgh and continue the efforts to build an effective support network of anti-militarist direct action.
If you have any enquiries about the conference or would like to do a workshop please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. See also the web-site or more details: www.antimilitaristnetwork.noflag.org.uk
"Every bomb that is dropped, every bullet that is fired in the name of this war of terror has to be made somewhere and wherever that is, it can be resisted"
