Hillary Clinton is a fascist

Danny | 25.07.2009 11:33 | Anti-militarism | Other Press | Repression

The British mainstream news coverage of Honduras has been non-existent. The CNN coverage has been biased, covering up facts that are well known in the rest of the americas and employing right-wing commentators like Robert Armstrong and the Council of Americas ( a US business organisation) while ignoring ALBA, the OAS and even the UN. Even independent english-language coverage has been poor, inaccurate and lacking.

I've a few minor problems with the NarcoNews summary of yesterdays events in Honduras though it is still worth reading. Al Giordano starts by putting himself into the story when only his mother could be interested in his own situation, poor journalism. Then he gets the name of the town wrong, it is Las Manos not Los Manos. More seriously though, when he criticises Clinton he resorts to calling her an asshole for her hypocracy, but fails to point out the most glaringly hypocritical thing that she said.

Clinton said "President Zelaya's effort to reach the border is reckless. It does not contribute to the broader effort to restore democracy and constitutional order in the Honduras crisis...We urge both parties to accept the proposal put forth by President Arias. It is the basis for a peaceful solution. And that is what the United States supports"

Clintons statement is a whitewash, a rewriting of history that no mainstream reporter has picked up on which therefore makes it incumbent on reporters like Giordano to pick up on. The fact is Arias said Zelaya must return on Friday. Arias was the US backed negotiator, and for the US press to report that his recommendations were rejected by both sides is simply false. Zelaya never rejected them, he followed Arias' instructions. The golpistas (coup leaders) didn't explicitly reject them either, but they did reject them by refusing to pass them to the Honduran Congress until Monday, when the call for Zelayas return would have already been out of date. Maybe the Honduran Congress had more important matters to discuss.

Mediator Seeks Zelaya's Return to Honduras by Friday
By VOA News
23 July 2009
The chief mediator in the Honduras crisis talks is proposing that ousted President Manuel Zelaya return to the Central American nation as its leader by Friday (yesterday).

Hillary Clinton deliberately misrepresented Arias decision, because her friends and supporters helped organise the and support the coup and she personally is doing her best to deter democracy. It is not enough to call her an asshole. Clinton is a gangster, a war-criminal and a fascist who can only be viewed as a golpista.
