Mr. Manure

Torben Petersen | 20.09.2009 13:28 | COP15 Climate Summit 2009 | Analysis | Climate Chaos | Ecology

The BBC motor journalist Mr. Jeremy Clarkson, JM, often presents his views on motoring, cars and similar matters in the conservative Danish newspaper Berlingske Tidende: and it’s clear to anyone that JM is in favour of big and petrol consummating motors. No doubt there, he is loyal to his real employers. But the position of the BBC is some what difficult to comprehend. Why on the polluted earth want the BBC to promote the exceedingly climate dangerous viewpoints and positions of JM? In other relations the BBC appears as a public service organisation that is intelli-gent and understands the danger of human driven emissions etc.

Mr. Manure
Mr. Manure

I have read and studied a number of the articles by JM and also earlier on seen the shows pro-duced by the BBC; “the Top gear magazine”. And from viewing the later mentioned he can appear as a bit of a clown behind the wheel of a motor. His almost frantic enthusiasm for motors like Por-sche, Rolls Royce and Bentleys can be interpreted as a kind of sales stunt for the sad cars. But JM is also send out to do another job, besides good mouthing the said motors.

He is a grand supporter of the traditional capitalist class society, and it can be seen as continuing promotion of that whole system and what JM regards as the sunny side of the capitalist system. In that sense he is a grand old propagandist of the capitalist system and its machine operators; the rich and mighty of society. The people “Upstairs” who live in there grand mansions with there Rolls Royce’s, Porches, domestic staff, luxury interior, swimming pools, and gold credit cards. And off course they don’t have to send there off springs to run dawn schools, no, they send them to Eton College, Harrow School etc. where the fees is around 10.000 to 20.000 £ a year per stu-dent, and later on they continue to Oxford University or Cambridge. JM has no heart or under-standing of the “underdogs” of society or the climate issue, in that context you might se him as a kind of modern version of a cold hearted and brutal renaissance person.

The former German Air Marshall, Herman Goring, called himself a renaissance person, and off course had a grand mansion, “Carin Hall”, a 100 miles from the German capitol: Berlin. He to liked fast motors and lived a luxury life as JM, and Herman received money from the German in-dustrialist like Krupp, Thüssen, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Siemens and others who received big or-ders from the German Government because they produced what was needed for wars.
JM to support the military and the reactionary agenda of the military, he has no human heart for those who feel the murderous consequence of the military or where the wars are fought: whether Afghanistan or Iraq.

JM’s TV show is one big free sales window for certain parts of the car industry and indirectly the oil companies. For JM there is no such thing’s as unemployment, poverty, homeless people, cli-mate problems or other matters the rest of society is confronted with. He supports the rich and mighty and they really support him. And one might wonder when QE II makes him a Sir or a Lord or something like that for his loyal and supportive “duties” to class society and his effort to keep every think as they where. JM is a male person but he truly reminds me more and more like the Danish party leader Misses Pia Kjaerdsgaard of the Danish Peoples Party. She don’t think that there is a climate problem and her viewpoints is as rightwing as JMs. Then again they both remind me of the well known play by various authors: “The Tragically History of Doctor Faustus”.

And we all know what happened to him, and in that context JM truly deserves what will come to him. Because it’s okay to act in a stupid way if you’re sick, dawn on your luck, “not is the full shilling” or something like that. But JM isn’t that, is he, no, his smart, and a privileged person in many respects and because of that he is a menace to the fight against the CO emission. Why doesn’t the BBC close his dreadful show and create a “Green transport show” that clearly illus-trates all the positive things regarding public transport and motors that run truly long on a gallon of petrol. And furthermore the necessity for everybody to become active in the climate issue; be-cause it concerns all in society and will affect everybody. All the JM’s of the worlds must be fought because they represent a danger to mankind. It sounds dramatic, but mankind is facing changes in the climate and because of that also changes in the economic and social structures. Wars is possible, also in that viewpoint, cross border peoples understanding is more important than ever. People like JM knows this probably; but they have prostituted there soul to the devil himself.
