Veggies News & Events, inc Lincoln Vegan Fair & ARC Meeting

Pat | 05.11.2009 00:10 | Animal Liberation | Anti-militarism | Climate Chaos

Having recovered from the 25th Anniversary Weekend, Veggies Catering Campaign has plenty more events coming up supporting vegan, climate action, anti-militarism and animal rights campaigns. We know these are all inter-related and urge others to make the links and give mutual support too.

We're off to Lincoln Vegan Food Fayre on Saturday 7th November ( http://www.veggies.org.uk/event.php?ref=1455). The event opens at 11am til 3.30pm. Should be back in Nottingham soon after 5pm, and at 6.30 there is a People's Kitchen Meal at Sumac - a fundraiser for Forest Fields Improvement Association Fundraiser.

Please email if you'd like to join us on a day out in Lincoln.

Next day, Sunday 8th, we are hosting the national Animal Rights Coalition meeting, gathering from 11am at Sumac. Help will be needed knocking out up to 50 breakfast fry-ups before the meeting starts at noon. Also running book stall, cakes, pasties, drinks etc. And a marquee to set up in yard for breakfast regulars who are not attending the meeting ... And participating in the networking meeting itself.
All hands on deck. We'll discuss this in more detail at this Thursday's Nottingham Animal Rights meeting at Broadway Cinema Mezzanine bar.

Gathering details:  http://www.veggies.org.uk/event.php?ref=1251

Please email or txt 0787 086 1837 if you can help in any way.

Next day, Monday 9th is the next Shut Down Heckler & Koch arms trade demo 4pm in Lenton. Details from  http://www.veggies.org.uk/event.php?ref=1310

This is followed on Friday 13th by Nottingham Arms Dump, hopefully a big demo against the arms trade, setting off from the Arboretum in Nottingham at 12noon. Veggies are invited to cater and it would be good to try to do it by bikes and trailers. Can you help (we have 3 trailers) - please email or txt 0787 086 1837.

The aim of the Nottingham Arms Dump is to symbolically “dump” the 25 foot model gun at the doors of Heckler and Koch as a gesture to say “no to the arms trade, no to heckler and koch” and also to highlight other anti-arms trade campaigns such as Shut Down Heckler and Koch and SMASH EDO/ITT.

Those in the know know that we sometimes get short or past-dated organic wholefood freebees, for relocation to good homes and tummies rather than going to landfill. Get in quick to Sumac cos we've got an unfeasible quantity of hemp seeds, fruit drink syrup and choc chip cookies, also fruit bars, tortilla chips, barley-coffee, seeds mixes,
garlic puree, vitamins, stock cubes, and lots more!
