Petrol station burnt down in Copenhagen protest

Indy DK | 10.12.2009 22:00 | COP15 Climate Summit 2009 | Climate Chaos | Social Struggles

Andra sidan är ni klara?! (The other side, are you ready?!)

This is an act directed against the political spectacle of COP15 - We are not going to let the
charades of the political elite distract us from what we know needs doing.
Last night a gas-station was burnt to the ground in the city of Lund in the south of sweden, just
across the bridge from Copenhagen.

Unlike the elite gathering in Copenhagen, we consider the destruction of life a serious matter.
While they twist themselves around trying to seem concerned, they are fanning the flames of the
fires that have been consuming all life it can for hundreds of years.

The fires we build - and ignite - are those intended to rid ourselves of our shackles
and create the space to build the worlds we dream of.

We see no other solution to the situation that industrial capitalism has put us in, than burning
down gas-stations and all other monuments holding up this system. We are living in a
socio-ecological crisis, and it will remain untill we remove it's cause.

Social war - not socio-ecological crisis

But surely...

... burning down gas stations (if you're not just fantasising about it to give you an anti-capitalist hard-on) leads to the combustion of large quantities of fossil fuel?

@muppetwatch: why dont you fuck off back to the EDL BNP websites? Leave real activism to us.

And if you're not EDL Troll, then here's a break down of who you PROBABLY are:

- Single, for sure. A man, maybe in your thirties. The women you go out with are younger than you, as older or same age ladies are too clever for you. younger woman allow you to manipulate them.

- You're ideological but you've only ever been a member of something years ago, having been pushed out of that or moved away from that, due to work or family commitments. You lost touch with friends, who you alienated, possibly after working away, being in jail or doing something else that made them become suspect of you.

- Your father was cruel to you when you were younger

- Your mother doesn't like what you've become, she justifies your existence to others with apologetic displays of affection, like, "arrh, he's a good lad really"

- You try to dominate arguments and discussions and judge people to be inferior to you if they disagree with you

- you have voted, but only once and probably for labour

- you're less than 5 foot 10 tall

- you are self employed, or work as and when it requires....

- You dont hold a degree level educational certificate but you have studied before. You have failed in your life, as far as you judge yourself.

- you are pathetic, not for the things listed above, but because you cant or wont appreciate when people try to fight back against a corrupt global system that keeps the workers and the poor down and floats the bank balances of the elite higher and makes them stronger and less willing to stop any time soon.

burning a petrol station to the ground, yes while it may create some fumes, A NEGLIGIBLE AMOUNT AT BEST, is a strategic weapon against the very system that creates hundreds of millions of TONS of fumes. if you cant see the truth in that, the real grasp of revolution, then what the fuck are you doing on this web site?\

get a life.

solidarity to those that dare to free themselves...burn all petrol stations to the ground!

While I agree with the comment at the end of your post - that the amount of fuel burned in this action will be little compared with he amount that would have been burned during the time that this petrol station will now be out of action, I don't see why you had to include the rest of the comment. I think that when you have a good point to make, it really distracts from that to (especially when your good point comes at the end) include stupid speculations about what kind of person someone else is, just because they disagree with you.

I'm not going to sit here and try to insult you by assuming you're small or were bullied in school and that's what made you write quite an aggressively-worded comment (actually, to be honest, I only read the first bit and then scrolled down to the only good point that you made at the end). Just because someone has made a criticism of something, even if you think they're a troll, there's always a chance that they're not and they're just asking a question about something because they want clarification or genuinely want to find out what other people think.

I hate it when websites like this that should be full of intelligent comments from independent thinkers end up with half of the comments being abusive and insulting and accusing people of being trolls. If there are trolls, ignore them! Like bullies in school, they only keep going because they get a reaction out of you. If someone states something that is factually incorrect, correct what they've said - don't start a long and stupid argument which distracts from the original article.

I realise I'm now distracting from the original article now, so I don't need any to call me a hypocrite and argue with me over this. Let's just stop getting annoyed when people make constructive criticisms or queries on here, yeah?

Annoyed

So all the people who can't get petrol, now have to drive a bit further to get more petrol also. Or break down and get a rescue van over. This isn't the way the world will be saved.

Only me

i dont care really what you think, but i'll reply out of manners.

for some time now people have been coming on to this site and sounding off against anarchists and other socialists that seek justice in the world. That justice will not come from debating or asking for change. So some of use property destruction as a tool, which has been effective before.
also, we have to destroy our "enemies" stock, in order that they suffer in the pocket and also in the media. propaganda has a lot to do with it.

my intuition allows me, sometimes, to get a small fragment of something, either a piece of clothing or a word or something written, and then know, or "feel" or understand a lot of what makes up a person on their conscious level. after you have studied human behaviour for as long as i have, which is all my life, then you learn stuff. im sorry if my assertions were too close to the truth.
if it wasn't you, why are you bothered? also, i didn't write it because they disagreed with me, i wrote it because i genuinely thought it was true.

if we dont stop them now, we are never going to stop them...dont you get it? its a bloody fight for the future survival of EVERYTHING that needs the planet to sustain them!!
