"The rest of the march - the centrepiece of protests planned in 130 cities across the world - remained peaceful, ahead of a candlelit vigil."

Hoo fucking rah, things can't be as bad as the scaremongers say, at least candles are still being held (pisstake..)

i do hope there are "revenge" attacks for this blatant police state action?!

solidarity to our comrades being "stolen" off the streets.......

retaliation the world over!

seriously

What kind of police force forbidens the access of someone in custody to the bathroom and forces them to piss their pants while having to sit on the road under cold weather for 2 hours?... its just disgracefull. This has to end.
And all the media do is praise the other "demonstrators" who by the looks of it could have been in any carnival rather in a serious protest with serious intentions. This people at the end of the day should look back and see if they really accomplished anything or just legitimized the shame that is happening at the summit.

now if it was the case people started defending themselves after they been attacked first then ok, but it seems abit ore like agent provocatuers or people off their head which is a real liablility on a demo.
The Police definetely seem to have overreacted arresting 900? people according to reports on the BBC, but no one has been injured & 2 people have been deported, if anyone had been shot& there hadnt been proper punishment ok.
So whodfcuk is calling for global retaliation on this & against whom?

At most if the Cop15 talks & its complete greenwash streets should be blockaded,
the state has been an excuse to arrest a whole load of people, whoever gave them that excuse was a acting stupidly,

We have to explain this to anyone who looks to be provoking trouble for no good reason & stop them before their seriously compromise demos& activist security. If they are agent provacetuer they need ejecting from the demo, or tying up, cable ties can be vhandy.

What solidarity

Sorry? Where were these protestations when hundreds of comrades were snatched of the streets of athens and thesoloniki TWO DAYS BEFORE the protests started? they were not arrested but "detained" and many are still locked away.

good luck to comrades in COP however, we must remeber that many of those protesting have no problem being arrested, i'm sure many of them didn't even resist or try and de-arrest, this is the nature of the climate change movement.
threaten to piss on a cop if they wont let you go the toilet.
Throw stones at cops regardless of what they are doing, see how long they can hold a kettle with paving slabs flyng at there faces.

good idea, but a bit tricky when you are forced to be sitting down with your hands tied behind your back and tied to other people as well...

and @alexei: there's nothing wrong with attacking first. Why should people only defend themselves? Why not take the initiative? Just because people aren't pacifists doesn't mean they are agent provocateurs.

you young people

In my day the ratio of 950 arrests to 1500 cops would be as impossible as it was humiliating.

950:1500 would have involved the 950 taking and holding the streets long enough to have many hours of party and the 1500 cowering & waiting for mechanical backup

950:1500 means we have given up ... given them our streets and showed that we have no fight left in us

Oh come the day when the police goons are themsleves snatched off the streets and 'prisoner swapped' ...

WHAT ... RESIST?!?

naaaaahhhh .... not as if its important or somfink

old, disgusted & fed up
