Vice Chancellor Geoffrey Pett was confronted as students forced their way into the boardroom and confronted him over the drastic cuts. After giving thoroughly unsatisfatory answers and refusing to set a date to debate the cuts in more detail the students decided to occupy the Vice Chancellor's office in protest against the needless cuts.
These cuts will lead to more pressure on the remaining staff which will in turn lead to less teaching time and bigger class sizes. All the while fees at the University continue to increase and student satisfaction continues to decrease. Management at the university insist the cuts are necessary without a trae of irony while they continue to collect their salaries which average £195k a year
The students at the University of Westminster have shown we stand side by side with our teachers and support staff and have taken action to defend jobs and education at the university. Please offer your support in any way you can.
