"Vegan Alien Cult" cafe has opened in Camden Town. [Loving Hut Plender Street]

anon | 26.03.2010 19:10 | Animal Liberation | Climate Chaos | Ecology | South Coast | World

A Vegan cafe the "Loving Hut"has opened in cafe and is being called "The Cult Cafe" by Camden people. The cafe is run by The Supreme Master Ching Hai a Nepalese group based from California. The vegan food is by donation and you cana eat all you want & pay what you like. While you are eating a TV channel talks about veganis, Buddhism and somehting else : Aliens and Life on Mars.

According to the Supreme Master Ching Hai TV channel Mars has no prisons, no fighting and everyone loves each other there. A chat show played in the cafe on the TV that is on all the time had members of the audience asking The Supreme Master Ching Hai : "Is it true at that men came from Mars and mated with the Earth women?" the Supreme Master Ching Hai replied "Yes".

The Supreme Master Ching Hai has printed lots of booklets, newsletters, gives away free DVDs etc if you want more information. The group supporting the Suprme Master promote veganism and saving Earth.
News No. 166 says on the front cover : "Help To Keep Our Spaceship Earth In A Powerful Position and "Vegetarian Diet In Space Voyage".

The group are also an envoromental and animal rights network. They believe in practising Buddhism, being vegan, that animal abusers are killers, that eating meat, fish and dairy is wrong and that some of us here on Earth are ALIENS.

There is a Supreme Master TV channel on SKY

Apologies for the typos.

The food itself is nice. The problem is that there is the danger of all sorts of nutters who will go in there for a free dinner, get sucked into a cult and will end up believing that "Aliens Have Taken Over Camden".

It's scary but worth a look for a laugh.

As for the people who think that the people in Camden who DON'T believe this alien shit are "Aliens themselves" or are "soooo funny"...or that we "can't see beyond our estates and streets" [to Mars]..there is no helping you and YOU are the ones who need help or that "need to go to the hospital".

Fucking hell.

The Tortoise Protection Group are part of this.

26.03.2010 22:26

There is an article in one of the Supreme Master newsletters about the "Tortoise Elder" being befriended by a Hippopotamus.

People who have been sent emails about the film Earthlings, aliens, animal rights etc have also been sent with info from the Tortoise Protection Group who appear to be connected with this.

There are blogs and artilces in the US and the UK that have simultaneous links to : Earthlings film, Annunaki aliens and the Tortoise Protection Group.

The TV channel in the Loving Hut cafe is very colourful [overly bright and garish actually] and this is similar to garish images sent to people in emails, myspace, through the post etc along with...Tortoise Protection Group info, aliens info, the film Earthlings and other weird things.

The frightening thing about this is that people like Keith Mann of the Animal Protection Party [and others] are joining in with it. On Keith's myspace there are links to Annunaki aliens sites, space sites etc. He spoke at an animal rights gathering about alien conspiracies and forgot about the animals according to bloggers. There is another group apparently in Camden called the Camden Sanity Brigade who believe in the alien theories and who claim to have links to the APP.

It would be funny if it wasn't for the fact that serious activists like Keith Mann have got involved. Unfortunately it's creepy and dangerous rather than funny.

Why knock others trying to help?

27.03.2010 18:18

I have been to a couple of these places in Australia, and they were really nice.

There was no talk of Aliens in the many times I went to eat cheep vegan food, and good folks into saving animals and the planet.

They also donated food to an animal rights campaign I was involved in, and the TV crew came down to do an article for the station.

Yeah Its got a bit of a culty vibe, but there is more then one way to stroke a cat! No one ever tried to recruit. Its also founded by some one from a different culture (Vietnamese) so thing might be a little different.

It has to be good that more vegan places are opening up, and a pay what you can place.

Lets not trash and spend energy bringing down people that are trying to do good, but in a different way. There are plenty of evil bastards to put our energy into.

Well fed non- alien believing Vegan

Where do they get their money from?

27.03.2010 18:50

At Copenhagen these people were handing out 'goodybags' all around the Bella Centre which contained, amongst other things, a huge glossy hardback book "The Birds in my Life" - 300 pages of garish photos of birds, and of the Supreme Master Ching Hai with the birds, accompanied by banal and cheesy "poems". They must've had thousands of these things, which must've cost tens of thousands to publish - where's the bunce coming from?

Scrumpy

Theyre mad!

27.03.2010 19:12

Yes this people were outside the Bella Centre handing out books every single day. They also had 'dogs of my life'. These were the weirdest books I have ever seen! They had thousands and they were good quality books too! I used them as presents for my friends :D Who thought they were shit, of course.

 http://sustainabledev.org/2009/12/11/day-4-cop15-supreme-master-ching-hai-is-angry-with-climate-cutting-carnivores/

They gave out many thousands of books, and seemed to have brought them from themselves... http://www.prleap.com/pr/103003/

They did seem a cult.

Strange things

They return!!

POGO, Inspiral, Manna, Beatroot and there's a couple of vegan places in Soho

27.03.2010 20:59

You're better off in those places rather than joining an alien cult. Manna, Beatroot and Inspiral etc are just normal cafes and restaurants. POGO has more of a social centre feel to it and is back to normal but better since the storm in a teacup. It has a bookshop, a library, a clothes swap, sofas, dogs are let in and Daft is the best.

Manna is quite expensive but is OK for the posher amongst us. Inspiral has DJs, Beatroot is a cafe in the thick of things in SOHO....all of these are great places that don't make vegans seem like cultists or crazies.

The alien cult cafe is dodgy..the vegan / environment side of things is a hook. A cult is a cult at the end of the day.

For cult read : Manson Family, Waco, Moonies, Scientologists etc....it's bad enough that AR people and vegans are seen as "mad" without adding a cult to the mix. The Daily Mail will have field day with this alien cult place. Shame on all those people that are joining in and defending it...you are harming the animals and the promotion of veganism.

If we really want veganism to go mainstream then an alien cult cafe is not the way to go about it.

bitch

I don't care how "badly written" article is, the cult is weird. Avoid.

27.03.2010 21:50

The priority is safeguarding a community, teenagers, students and looking after AR and the animals. A cult that bangs on about aliens will achieve none of this. Everyone in Camden is calling the Loving Hut "the cafe that is run by a cult" so a cult it is. Most people eating in there were laughing at the strange TV show and then the woman running the place tried to throw everybody on our table out because we were talking amongst ourselves.

Camden has enough weirdos, drugs and so on as it is without this cult cafe making AR people look like cultists and cranks.

An attack on someone for having an opinion is typical cult behaviour. People who get drawn into cults regress into childish behaviour, mirror each other and will lash out at critics in a way that is very out of proportion to the criticism. [See the Scientologists]

Few parents would want their teenagers in Loving Hut.

Rather aliens on mars than angels in my bedroom

28.03.2010 19:32

lets not jump the gun too much with loving hut....... a mad cult because the manager believes there are vegans living on mars?
Bloody barmy if you ask me.
Ok so the manager tells other people about it in the hope they will follow this cult/religion........ but at the end of the day people can make up their own minds? And how much more far fetched is this than angels walking the earth or a god watching out for us all, or the second coming, or being promised 7 virgins in heaven and eternal life. Why single out this religion so much?
And least us not forget this religion gave 10,000 quid the other month to the Haiti appeal and sent people out there to feed people. All religion is shit in my eyes to be honest but i can think of most other religions who are worse than this one

Mad as hatters the loving hut crew are....... but the burgers are amazing and so is the price of the food

mr burger

It's 73 virgins not 7. Loving Hut is a cult. Cults are dangerous.

28.03.2010 19:58

Yes, the food is nice and it's cheap ; ) but the problem is, it's a cult. Cults can lead to , exploitation and abuse. Cults have been known to violently attack or persecute those who try to leave, speak out against them etc.

Camden has enough problems with impressionable teens, runaways, drugs etc without a cult in the town.

It's funny and scary but VX 73 Caledonian Road is sane

11.04.2010 10:10

Just adding to the list above of Pogo cafe and the rest - VX 73 Caledonian Road N1 has a map of veg restaurants in its part of Camden on its web site as well as being a cafe, a lounge and a shoe shop. You may know it as Secret Society of Vegans but I suspect they may be tong-in-cheek about being a secret cult.

Secret Society of Vegans is nothing to do with alien cults

12.04.2010 23:53

The Secret Society Of Vegans is not an alien cult. They sell clothes. The people who run it are nice normal people who run a clothes shop in Camden. They are not involved with extremism or alien cults.

Vegan Aliens. Fallen Angels. Demons and Angels.

13.04.2010 14:01

 http://www.think-aboutit.com/aliens/vegans.htm

There is a whole cult around veganism and aliens, Fallen Angels and Angel / Devil.

{POGO Cafe has had the board changed so that the breakfast menu now reads "Angel or Devil" with a picture of horns with it.}

Now they are encouraging anorexia.

They are promoting something called breathairism...and telling people to stop eating altogether.

This is scary shit as anorexia is deadly.

Hold your horses

 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/india/7645857/Man-claims-to-have-had-no-food-or-drink-for-70-years.html

Scientists have not yet made up their minds on this one so who are you to dismiss it outright?
Prahlad Jani is being held in isolation in a hospital in Ahmedabad, Gurjarat, where he is being closely monitored by India's defence research organization.
So far, Mr Prahlad appears to be standing up to scrutiny. He has not eaten or drunk any fluids in six days, and similarly has not passed urine or a stool in that time. He remains fit and healthy and shows no sign of lethargy. Doctors will continue observing him for 15 days in which time they would expect to see some muscle wastage, serious dehydration, weight loss, and fatigue followed by organ failure.

It is common in India for Jains and Hindus to fast, sometimes for up to eight days, without any adverse affects, as part of their religious worship.

I note that the article ends rather swiftly and inconclusively. They are telling us nothing. How much weight loss is 'slight'? After 15 days fasting I would expect to lose up to a stone!!! Hardly surprising coming from the Telegraph though. Wouldn't want to stop those consumers consuming would they. Gotta help the economy you know!!!

Curious
