Mayday Demo in events section of Met police

election meltdown activist | 07.04.2010 13:50 | Workers' Movements

For all those wishing to take part in Mayday march and demos heading onto Parliament Square, the cops are fully aware of it, unlike an earlier posting in indymedia which stated the Met had issued a statement banning it.

police permission

If the roads are facilitated just for protesters does that mean that the protest itself has police authorisation to go ahead? Please tell me it doesn't, we do not need a right to protest, and as activists we shouldn't ask for that right!

Hey (A)

I don't think the protest organisers have agreed this with the fuzz; the fuzz seemed to have acknowledged the fact that the protest is going ahead?! CRAZY BUT TRUE. Sheesh.

Anarchists don't support this, haven't organised for it

08.04.2010 11:44

don't know any genuine anarchist in london who would support this. A shouty mad ex-professor (who just loves the media) is not a movement.

Posh twats and students only.

you seem pretty determined to trash this action. why are you so desperate for people not to go to this? Plenty of anarchists are involved in this action, and some are even working class.
Is there anything else worthwhile planned for mayday in London, besides the international workers day march? Why not just let go and check it out. Bring some booze, bring some mates, chill out on what hopefully will be a nice summers day.
Avoid like the plague, you're a copper, right? so we'll see you there!

not a posh twat or student

It's good to lend a hand

In my experience, people tend to follow those four horses. People carrying them often get tired and ask nearby persons to carry them for a while as they perhaps smoke a rollie or av a can. If anyone is so inclined, they could perhaps be awfully helpful and carry the horses, my only worry is that individuals choosing to be so helpful may not have the orienteering skills necessary to reach parliament square..........
