"El Norte tells their story with astonishing visual beauty, with unashamed melodrama, with anger leavened by hope. It is a Grapes of Wrath for our time." Chicago Sun-Times. “A remarkable accomplishment” New York Times. It's directed by Gregory Nava; the screenplay was nominated for an Oscar; and the film was officially declared by the U.S. Library of Congress to be "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."
The screening is part of our Refugee Week programme of events, and is the 3rd in a series of events during the week entitled "From Exile to Integration". The screening is at the Pierian Centre, 27 Portland Square, St Pauls, Bristol BS2 8SA. Entry is free, but tickets should still be booked on 0117 924 4512 or info@pieriancentre.com. It's also a great chance to see the Celebrating Sanctuary art exhibition which fills the Grade 1-listed Pierian Centre for the duration of Refugee Week.
