Campaigners in Leeds today protested at companies involved in the badger cull and foie gras. First of all was Thomson Ecology (Calls Wharf, 2 The Calls, Leeds, LS2 7JU // Tel: 0113 247 3780) who are heavily involved in the plans to cull badgers across Wales. Upon arrival, a noisy demo was held outside the shared building, however we were informed that Thomson had closed for the day as a result of the planned protest. After confirming this was true, we moved on vowing to return again in the coming week to confront these cowardice animal killers.

Next of all was the Hilton Hotel, who sold foie gras on one of their menu’s. After the start of the protest, the manager came out and discussed the matter with campaigners and stated that it will now be perminantly removed from sale.

Last of all, we visited Brasserie at West Park but following them being closed until later in the afternoon we held a protest outside their sister-business West Park Cafe & Deli. After 10 minutes, we spoke to the owner who stated that foie gras will not be sold again and a statement will be issued.
