Mr. Ahmadinejad, are the USA days numbered?

Von Helman | 04.10.2010 03:26 | Analysis | Indymedia | Terror War | World

The truth of the matter is that the US Government is out of options in their failed bid to bully Iran into a corner and they know it

The US government is reaching the pinnacle of their hypocrisy, especially when they use rhetoric regarding the military options still being on the table in regards to Iran’s failure to comply with their nuclear program. As if that US threat had any real validity.

The US then goes on the attack condemning Ahmadinejad when he suggested the “undertaker” bury that same governing board that’s making those veiled threats against Iran and its people, and the US is then outraged at such comments. Seems a double standard on the part of the USA, but what can you expect from the US Government, especially when such hypocrisy comes so regularly from Washington DC that it’s become the mainstay.

The truth of the matter is that the US Government is out of options in their failed bid to bully Iran into a corner and they know it. There really isn’t any military option available to the US at this time because any such action would be detrimental to the USA in terms of causing a crude oil crisis which then would cause gas prices to skyrocket.

History will record that at this juncture in time President Ahmadinejad stood up to the largest super power on earth, not because of any great military power Iran possesses, but rather because they hold all the cards in the name of crude oil.

What does this mean to the average American? Well with the already fragile US economy even $5.00 a gallon gas prices would simply be devastating to already struggling businesses and families, even if you believe Washington when they claim the recession is over. That premises is laughable, just ask the any US citizen if the recession is over, or if the economy is stable and I’m sure they'll have another view.

If any aggression was to take place in the Middle East I can only assume oil prices would quickly pass the $5.00 per gallon mark, rise quicker than gold prices, and push the US economy completely over the edge. Americans would see a domino effect like none other in history. They wouldn’t be able to afford the higher cost of the goods that are transported on their highways, nor the gas to put in their cars to get to work where pay cuts have already been setting record highs. A number of business would fail under the higher cost of doing business, and unemployment would soar. Combining these things together would certainly cause the collapse of the entire US economy in a record setting catastrophe.

Ahmadinejad realizes this crude oil situation (as does the US government,) and he’s using it to his advantage while the US ratchets up more rhetoric in the name of “on the table” options which are shallow threats. Iran is just waiting to see if the US is stupid enough to actually act on these threats, and if they do Iran will sit back and laugh because they didn’t have to fire one shot to bring down the greatest super power in history. The irony that one small nation in the desert was able to bring down the largest super power without one shot fired would be a defining moment in world history and very humbling to the USA.

On the bright side, if the US economy does collapse at least all the people will have health care coverage.
