9am - 6pm, Thursday 7 October
Whitehall (opposite Downing Street)
Maya and Susan will be reading the names of both Afghans and British soldiers who have been killed as a result of the war. In 2005 Maya read the names of British soldiers opposite the Cenotaph in 2005 and as a result became the first person to be prosecuted under Section 132 of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act (SOCPA). As well as name reading there will also be a symbolic scattering of peace poppies, a chalking of names and readings of news reports and statements relating to the ongoing war.
PLEASE NOTE: As an unauthorised action within the boundaries of the SOCPA anti-protest zone this action carries a risk of arrest. See www.repeal-socpa.info.
