The Royal Parks are under mounting pressure to justify the shooting of deer in several of their parks - Richmond, Bushy and Greenwich. It has emerged how park staff are feeding the deer to attract them to shooting areas, which is only serving to boost the population. Each year, they also make £29,000 from the sale of the carcasses of over 200 deer from each park to restaurants. Still, it is disguised as a call when the real agenda is making profit from the senseless killing of these grand animals.

In 1989 over 1,000 deer lived in Richmond Park in healthy herds, however now there is merely 600 healthy animals and the Royal Parks claim the area is overpopulated, which is why the cull is happening. If it was really about the health of the deer, other methods could be used such as contraception, relocation and sterilisation - all of which have been used elsewhere.

This season, activists have been present in the parks stopping any shooting taking place so far. The Royal Parks can easily make a decision to end the cull so please contact them in complaint.
