Nazi Band at Hideaway

Pet | 28.11.2010 02:49

Nazi band performing Hideaway December 7th

We got notice that Folk Grinder are performing The Hideaway 114 Junction Road London December 7th.
The band is called Folk Grinder - the band supports Nazi ideals and wears SS Regalia on stage. One of their membersd is Miro Sneider - member of Nazi band Death in June who`s records are banned in Germany due o ie the fact that they rerecorded the Horst Wessel song - one of NAZI Germanies innoficial anthems which is banned in Germany.

Death in June is one of Europes leading nazi bands - his singer Douglas Pearce supported facist groups like HOS (Croatian facist combat group in the Yugoislawian wars) -and his band is banned from performing in variouso countries through Europe.

We ask you to support our fight against facist bands performing in London - you can send protest mails to  info@thehideawaybar.co.uk

As the venue already told us that they do not care if facist bands perform their stage we will organize a demosntration in front of the venue December 7th - 7pm to fight against these facist scum!

From the Islington Council Website.

The below are details of the licence granted. It looks like live music is not an option for Platters. It also looks like they changed the name from Platters to the Hideaway without telling the Licence Authority. It has also been a number of years since the licence was granted.

In other documents available from the Islington Website there are a number of documents relating to the granting of the licence including

"3.2.17 If the application is granted Council Officers will inspect the premises on a regular basis to ensure licence conditions are complied with and will endeavour to investigate any complaints."

It might well be time to ask the council for a schedule of visits and a list of complaints. They are also only licenced to operate until 2am. There were numerous infractions of this licence term and, should neighbours wish to submit a list of late opening then the licencing officers would be obliged to act.

I am the manager of Folk Grinder. My family spend WW2 in the Resistance in Grenoble. Many members of my family were killed by the SS. There is no way Folk Grinder is associated with Nazis in any way shape or form. Miro did a session with DIJ because it was a paid job. He is 25 and did not realise the meaning of DIJ. The band does not wear Nazi regalia on stage but sailors gear. If you are so sure of your facts, meet the band and myself and you will soon realised how stupid your stance against the band is. We strongly condemn Nazis and everything associated with that period of history. The band sings sea shanties with a mixture of rock songs about love and broken hearts. Hardly far right!
