Redundancy Letters sent to all Hounslow Council Employees

London Class War | 05.12.2010 21:31 | Education | Public sector cuts

More Job Losses to come - are you ready for civil disobiediance......

Already Tory controlled Hounslow Council have sent out redundancy notices to thousands of council employees.
The following letter was sent from Michael Frater Interim Chief Executive, Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow, TW3 4DN.

REDUNDANCY VULNERABILITY & ARRANGEMENTS FOR ENHANCED VOLUNTARY REDUNDANCY

You will be aware that the council, along with all public services, will face significant budget pressures over the next four years. Local authorities have been advised by the Government that their budgets are likely to be reduced by over a quater in that period.

Here in Hounslow our budgets will reduce throughout the four year period, so we do not have to make all the savings at once, but we do need to start now to ensure that our budget is legal, we plan for the changes & we minimise the effect on jobs & services.

In the next financial year 2011/12, we will have to make savings that could be as much as 10% of our budget. Members have not yet decided where those savings will be made, although it is becoming increasingly clear that some job losses & changes of terms & conditions of service cannot be avoided.

The purpose of this letter, “WHICH IS BEING SENT TO ALL STAFF”, is to let you know that:-

:Because of the reduction in the overall number of posts in the council, your post could be deleted & you are therefore vulnerable to redundancy.
:Your duties could be changed.
:Your terms & conditions of service could be subject to change.

(COMMENT) This is a letter from a wanker who receives £310,000/£316,000 per annum, so why not save a few thousand pounds and get rid of this bastard Michael Fratner.

Have employees from other local authorities received similar letters yet? If so have any of them gotten together with community activists to build a serious opposition to both the cuts to jobs & services, if not why the fuck not?

Hounslow is no longer a Conservative Council it returned to Labour control in May 2010, which makes their actions even more questionable.

The Council is holding a meeting at their Civic Centre this Tuesday 7 December at 7pm to discuss cuts to workers pay and conditions. The Unions are organising a lobby/protest before the start of the meeting.

Redundancy Letters sent out to all Hounslow Council Employees

My apologies, it is a Labour Council but local MP's are mainly Conservative after the former MP for Brentford lost her seat to the Tories after the expenses scandal and all the Tory councillors having behind closed doors meetings at their HQ in Chiswick.

My trade union partner and employee of Hounslow Council got councillors mixed up with MPs, but still cuts are cuts and job losses are job losses whichever party is in power they all shaft us all.

Err... because you are not in charge of the council! you tit
If you are so interested in how the council is run, then why don't you appy for a job there and then work your way up the ladder to the position of making these decisions? Anything else is just bitching. If you are truly serious about this, then start applying to the job and put your case forward.

Michael Frater Interim Chief Executive

I notice the person who sent this out is Interim Chief Executive, so he is in no position of authority to do anything.

Most who work for local authorities are bastards who have no concept of public service, but as usual it will be the public who will be the losers with loss of public services.

NeoLabour are no different to to the rest.

My experience of dealing with local councillors, it matters not what the party, they all have one self interest, getting their snouts deep in the trough.

That is not to say there are not decent councillors in all parties, but sadly they are a rarity.

Keith

Is this the same Michael Frater who

06.12.2010 15:16

in 2008 got paid off by Nottingham City Council with one years salary and three months pay totalling £225,000.

Hope he's offering the same deal to all those he's sacking.
