NO HISTORY. As I understand it the individual in question came to London from the North over ten years ago and pretty much took over a well known organisation, which was in the doldrums at the time. To my knowledge no one in our movement has any previous history for him aside from his involvement with the same group in a different city. He was in control of various mobiles and email addresses, which were the first point of contact for the organisation and its initiatives.
LONG PERIODS OF ABSENSE. He is often away following a football team (on his own) and also travels abroad (on his own) to train in a leisure pursuit. He is also constantly posting on every list and forum going while allegedly holding down a fulltime job. Presumably his boss doesn’t mind him spending several hours a day on the Internet? To my knowledge his work place is clerical and could not be easily verified.
A SERIAL ACCUSER. The person in question seems to be on a lifelong mission to point the finger at others and make keep fellow activists in a constant state of paranoia. He constantly pushed the above mentioned organisation into obsessing about the secret state and away from its original remit which was street based. Interestingly its declarations about the security services always seemed to be about 10-20 years out of date. He has also become an expert on para politics. What better way for the state to monitor what we know about it? He also seems to have a totally simplistic and ignorant view of certain issues while demonstrating a high understanding of the same topics on different occasions. How could the two be compatible?
DIVIDE AND RULE. The person in question is extremely talented at sowing division not only within his own group but also between sections of the wider movement. He always knows everyone else’s business and is constantly fishing for information about organisations and individuals. I have also noticed that he tends to skilfully drop his questions into the conversation in the pub when people are half pissed and off guard.
SOCIALLY INEPT. He seems to have nothing but contempt for everyone around him. Why someone so bitter, hate-filled and resentful would spend so much of his time at social gatherings is beyond me. I’m often left wondering why he even bothers coming to events, as he is constantly miserable? I saw him a while ago at someone’s leaving do. He looked more like he was sat in a dentist’s waiting room prior to some root canal work.
A RESEARCHER? Like journalists, these people are the perfect cover for the state to pry into the business of others while having a legitimate reason for doing so. Being sympathetic to the cause while also plying a trade (as professional or talented amateur) is the oldest rick in the book.
NEVER SEEMS TO GET NICKED. While putting himself at the forefront of groups who encourage violent direct action that almost enters the realms of the paramilitary the person I am talking about never seems to get arrested. Which is more than can be said for his clueless fellow travellers.

Of course there is nothing conclusive in any of the points above. Our movements by their very nature will always attract oddballs and people with issues. Fostering a culture of whispering about people who are a bit different is the antipathy of everything we stand for. I also know that the individual I am referring to is highly trusted by a lot of people. But then the best agents always are. Two other people have stories to tell about this person they are welcome to post them below. For my part I never for one moment looked twice at this individual until a few years ago when I was attending an anti fascist benefit event at Chats Palace.
While on my way there I saw him getting out of an expensive car about a mile away from the venue. It was in a side street well away from any main roads. I did not recognise the men in the driver or passenger seats whom to be frank looked like cops. He arrived at the venue about quarter of an hour after me. I was cycling. Later that night I was at the bar waiting to be served and the person was next to me talking to another activist. I clearly overheard him say that he had walked to the gig from home. The flat he shared with another activist was in the opposite direction. Why did he need to lie about that?
