This article plays right into the argument that police-officers pretend to 'have to' rape protesters to maintain their cover. In my experience, there is is far less sex in serious, committed movements than in any other social situation, such as work-colleagues, and that isn't prurience but common-sense.
For a sad old man like Ian Bone, who I honestly doubt has had a boner in decades, to claim otherwise shows no commonsense, no solidarity, and suggests his blood-supply would be better directed to his brain than in any futile attempt at a hard-on. And I speak as someone who is envied for all the wrong reasons.

Please everyone don't fall into the 'free-love' trap, there are enough non-activists to seduce, and much to be risked by 'office affairs'. Apart from the undercovers, there is the damage done to causes you espouse by almost inevitable recrimination once even honest affairs ends.

If you read the linked article it would be clear this is satirical, and puts it into the context that anarchists have sex for enjoyment, whereas for cops sex is a weapon of hate against their opponents.

It is satire. It does make the point that coppers use sex as a weapon in their armoury.

As for making out that for activists to have affairs with each other is as bad as having an affair in the workplace - what?? How dour and controlling. Do we all have to wear big boots and combat trousers as well?

The article says:

but is that not the definition for infidelity?

Dictionary definitions for promiscuity (which is what most people would understand the word to mean) include:

-characterized by or involving indiscriminate mingling or association, esp. having sexual relations with a number of partners on a casual basis.

- undiscriminating sexual behavior: behavior characterized by casual and indiscriminate sexual intercourse, often with many people

It isn't helped by the outrageous and insulting comment from 'Class War - Barnsdale Brigade':

The claim that all anarchists shag around indiscriminately sounds far-fetched and unlikely.
