Vegan Pledge

Are you interested in trying a vegan diet with help and support? Why not take the London Vegan Pledge for a month?

Once you sign up you will be invited to two meetings, one at the start and one at the end of your pledge month on Saturday 5th March and Saturday 2nd April 2011. These informative events take place at a venue in central London from 10am – 4pm and include speakers, delicious vegan food, cookery demos and a basic health check. You will also be put in touch with a vegan buddy who will support you during the month. All of this is completely free!

I think this makes us sound like religious wierdos or like AA or sumat, and that going vegan is some great sacrifice that we need to be supported in. Advice leaflets n cookery classes are a good idea, but sod the 'pledge', we're not a bunch of martyrs!

The vegan pledge has assisted many people to become vegan and supported them in their choice to eat a diet which avoids the suffering of sentient beings. To all those who have shot this down in flames what exactly are you doing that is so brilliant? True no diet is completely and utterly ethical but veganism causes far less of the earth's resources to be consumed. Asfor the notion that this has nothing to do with "anarchy" firstly so what?, secondly one of the main reasons for being vegan other than removing oneself from animal abuse is to stop the abuse of our own species. Many humans are starving, a vegan diet requires 10 times LESS resources, meat and dairy are luxury products. Presumably it is beneath "anarchists" to care about the environment, poverty and justice. How exactly you have the time to troll about this in your oh so important schedules is a bit beyond me. Tell us oh wise ones how would YOU have us spend our time? Clearly you are so much more important than us so go on tell us why? Either that or fuck off back to your sad little bedrooms and play your heirarchical games there.

Anyone who calls themselves an ex-vegan was never a real vegan in the first place. Ms Keith reminds me of Richard D. North, another pro-animal-abuse 'ex-vegan'. As for your Anarcho-Primitivism, you can shove it up your arse.

I did my growing up many years ago which is why I am and always will be vegan. Unless you buck up your ideas Dan, when you grow up the only difference will be that you'll need a bigger bridge to hide under.
