Callout for Solidarity with the 2nd Prisoner Hunger Strike!

On September 26th, a second hunger strike began in California state prisons. The number of strikers has grown to 12,000 as of October 2nd, nearly double the amount that took part in the previous strike in July.
On September 26th, a second hunger strike began in California state prisons. The number of strikers has grown to 12,000 as of October 2nd, nearly double the amount that took part in the previous strike in July. Like before, solidarity is needed in order to fight the media blackout and to expand the struggle beyond the prison walls. While there was never a formal acknowledgment made by the prisoners, they did in fact hear about every single solidarity action that took place during the first strike, and every action increased the strikers' morale and determination.
Building off of the experience gained supporting the previous strike, we call for anarchists throughout California and across the country to plan actions that will not only be noticed but will also be clearly directed against the prison system. Anarchists in California have a vital role to fill in this struggle. While the actions of anarchists outside California will be important, those who are in the same state as the strikers will be able to directly influence events.
These actions should be planned and carried out as soon as possible. The strike is still spreading, and the more that the prisoners hear of our actions, the more committed they will be to carry on. California is crumbling and will be one of the first states to implode. Pushing and aiding the struggle against the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation helps in destabilizing the most vicious parasite of poor people. The more we aid and encourage the strike, the further we push the CDCR into chaos, disorder, and mutiny.
The five core demands of the hunger strikers:
1. End Administration Abuse & Group Punishment
2. Abolish the Debriefing Policy & Modify Gang Status Criteria
3. End Long Term Solitary Confinement
4. Provide Adequate and Nutritious Food
5. Expand and Provide Constructive Programming & Privileges
