Father of two Kingsley Burrell died on March 31st 2011 after being picked up by West Midlands Police. Family members said he had called the police on March 27th because he felt threatened by a group of men while out in Birmingham with his five year old son. They said when officers turned up, they detained him under the Mental Health Act - despite his family saying he had no history of mental health illness. He was taken to hospital, where his family claimed Burrell had mysterious physical injuries and was not allowed to speak to them. Three days later, police were called to the unit. He was later transferred to a mental health facility at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
