Costa Crociere: tomorrow the launch of Neo-Costa

mrbean@autistici.org (Mr. Bean - interceptor®) | 01.03.2012 18:55 | London

How many emotions these days, a Costa makes his bow and then bows (Costa Concordia), one other  ship argues with the jetty of Sharm El Sheik (Costa Europa) and another  ship Costa  adrift. If you think you've already seen enough this year, you, you are wrong. The shipping company of  the records (some for the truth rather negatives) tomorrow in Port of Savona, will ship with a new baptism  of  the  new "Costa Neo-Romantic."

For the truth this ship not is  really new . Costa neo-romantic, actually is the old "Costa Romantica" of the 1993 with a little make-up, industrial quantities of plastic surgery and 90 million euros of Liftin. Everything has been designed to maximize space and can accommodate more cruise passengers. An eye to the style and the other for profit (2 new half-bridges, 111 new cabins, 120 cabins and suites with private balconies).

The loss of lives for the tragedy of the Costa Concordia scored heavily this time of sorrow. So the launching ceremony will be officiated in the most simple possible, practically celebrated behind closed doors. In these days the President of Costa Cruises, Pierluigi Foschi has sent a letter of invitation to selected personalities, of Genova  and Savona:  Dr. Francantonio Granero (Head of the Court of Savona), the new Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor of Genoa Dr. Michele Di  Lecce , President of the Liguria Region Claudio Burlando, Rev. Vittorio Lupi (Archdiocese of Savona), Lt. Col. Roberto Visintin (Commander Prov. Guardia di Finanza), Igor Aloi (Municipal Police Captain), Paul D'Amico (President Confitarma) Ambassador Umberto Vattani (Pres Institute of Foreign Trade), and last but not least, a close friend of  ever,  the CEO and new Chairman of the RINA - Italian Naval Register, Mr. Ugo Maria Salerno.

Writes Mr.  Foschi  to the   pontifex  maximus  of  the  RINA:

“Dear Maria Engineer Ugo Salerno CEO RINA, Via Corsica, 12 - 16121 Genova. Genoa, 28 February 2012. Dear engineer Salerno, in the most delicate period in the history of our Company and with the feelings of sympathy which animate me and all my collaborators for those who have suffered in spite of us, I would announce that next Friday, March 2 will be opened in Costa NeoRomantic Savona, ship completely new, created by the redesign of the Costa Romantica. The renovation project has been realized from the yard of St. George Port of Genoa, specializing in the segment of repairs and ship conversions, which has enlisted the help of T. Mariotti subsidiary. The restyling of the Costa Romantica has required an investment by Costa Crociere of about 90 million euros, according to an analysis by S. Giorgio del Porto, the work on the site have generated an economical point in the single province of Genoa, about 40 million euros, with the involvement of about forty companies Genoese. With regard to employment, the renovation project has involved a thousand people, including engineering studies, project managers, board and skilled labor. And 'this is clear evidence of our commitment to want to remain a strong economic engine by ensuring our standards of professionalism in the field of safety and respect of the pillars on which it is always justified the policy of our Company. The renewal of Costa neoromantic has provided significant assistance with the creation of new areas and the introduction of services that represent a substantial upgrade of the Coast product, with the aim of offering an experience of cruising renovated, ideal to satisfy the desires of target a specific customer. Costa neoromantic will stand for a reserved atmosphere, edited by Tillberg Design, an architectural firm specializing in Swedish ships and luxury yachts and Syntax, London firm specializing in prestigious hotels and spas. Work on Costa Romantica have led to a complete renovation of the ship, with the addition of 2 new half-bridges and 111 new cabins, and the construction of 120 cabins and suites with private balconies. The maximum capacity of the ship has increased from 1,697 to 1,800 guests in total, with an increase from 678 to 789 booths and the tonnage from 53,000 to about 56,000 tons. The first cruise will sail from Savona, March 2, 2012 for a total of 14 ports in the Port of Savona in 2012. Among the special features of Costa there are neo-romantic destinations and routes, near and far who want to offer our guests a new dimension to cruising. The first cruises offer stops in Spain, Morocco, Canary Islands and Madeira, in the spring will make 7-day itineraries in the Western Mediterranean.  From late June and throughout the summer instead propose stopping at some of the most unusual cities in Europe such as Le Havre, Cherbourg, Lisbon, Cadiz, but also Copenhagen and Oslo to name a few. On September 19, instead of leaving for a cruise departing from Savona 107 days for Australia and New Zealand, reaching the most fascinating and significant Eastern Hemisphere. Under the partnership we have established for years with the City of Savona and with His highest administrative positions, I would be delighted if you could be present at the ceremony of blessing of Costa Neoromantic, preceded by the ritual exchange crest. Both private ceremonies to be held on board the ship docked in Savona, on 2 March, will be sober and reserved, according to the program guidelines attached, providing a small number of authorities in addition to the Steering Savona Costa San Giorgio and the shipyards Port & T. Mariotti. My staff as soon as you put in touch with your office to receive your membership. Hoping to have you on board my dear guest, I beg you to accept my feelings of heartfelt appreciation.Pier  Luigi  Foschi”.

In these times of almost festive,  there is another ship of Costa Cruises, which has big problems. The - now famous - container ship he believes to be an ocean liner. The Costa Allegra MN. The shipping company was convinced that the worst threat to the ship and the cruise were the actions of piracy. As you know many of the cruise routes through areas infested with pirates willing to do anything (in fact Costa Crociere on its ships has included  the "armed protection," with  the best militaries in the San Marco Regiment of the Italian Navy, which in disguise, are mixed between tourists). Rather paradoxically, the worst risk, not  are  the pirates but  the company itself. In these hours the company headed by Pierluigi Foschi is sending in all the languages ??of the world, letters of apology to all cruise passengers for yet another accident to the ship Costa Allegra (see copy of these letters here reproduced and attached pdf): "We deeply regret the incident occurred on board the Costa Allegra on trips to Mahe / Victoria Port. As you know, following the damage occurred, we are unable to restore the full functionality of the ship, so your cruise will be discontinued in Mahé ... ". These concepts  clash a bit with the beautiful words written on the new brochures of Costa Neo-Romantic: "The Italian excellence on the seas of the world", "the fancy Italian sea glitters", "excellence of Made in Italy reborn in  the sea. "

We do many good wishes to the Coast Neo-Romantic. It really needs.
