ATOS Kills: Mass 'Die-in' in Cardiff against Benefit Cuts
DPAC Cardiff | 25.08.2012 18:03
DPAC says: ‘A Channel 4 documentary recently revealed that the DWP requires ATOS to reject the benefit claims of 7 out of 8 disabled claimants, resulting in immense suffering, homelessness, or death. The mark of a civilised society is how it addresses the needs of its most vulnerable members. Given what is happening to tens of thousands of disabled people in Britain today, we can no longer claim to be a civilized society.
‘Our campaign in Cardiff is part of a national campaign supported by the trade unions, and goes by the name "Atos Kills". This is based on well-documented evidence that approximately 32 disabled people a week die after their Atos Work Capability Assessments deem them "fit to work" and their benefits are stopped (the evidence for this was first obtained through FoI requests by the Daily Mirror and all this can be found on the DPAC website). This is in addition to the people who have been driven to suicide as a result of the welfare reforms.’
‘Please come along next Wednesday and be a “corpse” – after all, it’s not often that you get the chance to fight injustice by lying down!’

How very curious! Is Indymedia suppressing comments?

Does this mean that viewers of the item on indymedia uk are not concerned &
alarmed about it? What other conclusion must be made of the fact that there is no comment at all so far?
If the evidence says that 32 people die each week then the total number of persons dying in that way is 1664 per year.
If ATOS is being fingered as it apparently is being fingered as causing the main pressure & impetus for these deaths then it must follow that ATOS is conducting what must in o the facts and effect be a mass murder or mass killing project.
And still there is o comment at all?
Is this because Indymedia is suppressing comments?
Verycurious

>> How very curious! Is Indymedia suppressing comments?
But then you say this:
>> Does this mean that viewers of the item on indymedia uk are not concerned & alarmed about it? What other conclusion must be made of the fact that there is no comment at all so far?
Well - it seems you have answered your own question. The "other conclusion" that can be drawn is that the comments are being surpressed...... You've answered your own question numbnuts lol!
>> If the evidence says that 32 people die each week then the total number of persons dying in that way is 1664 per year.
Actually: "This is based on well-documented evidence that approximately 32 disabled people a week die after their Atos Work Capability Assessments deem them "fit to work""
... Means that disabled people are dying after their assessments deem them fit for work. I think you will probably find that disabled people are also dying before their assessments too. So, it could be argued that not having the assessment and not working is putting people's lives at risk if we use your ill found logic.
>> .......mass murder or mass killing project.
Really? a "mass killing project" ..... really?! By not giving away "free money" it is a "mass killing project"?
>> And still there is o comment at all?
And whos fault is that then? ;-)
>> Is this because Indymedia is suppressing comments?
No. There are no hidden comments on this article. So it is because people arn't interested and/or dont believe "the evidence".
surpression
Atos shames or nation, as does our government

Each and every death or suicide is their responsibility. Theirs is the guilt.
