Save the Bees Stop Bayer

CBGnetwork | 27.09.2012 20:03 | Ecology | Health | Workers' Movements | Cambridge | World

Ity seems to be pretty much an accepted fact these days that Bayers Neonicotinoid Pesticides are responsible for the mass Bee Deaths. Even in the Corporate media. But Bayer are still churning out thousands of tons of their Poisons . It's an important issue everyone should get involved. Here's our latest Leaflet. Help us Stop Bayer .. Please, take the time to read the attached PDF file.

Death dealers

Bayer were also the first group to name diacetylmorphine 'heroin' and market/profit from it under that name, then as part of the IG Farben group they had a hand in the creation of zyklon-b the chemical used in the gas chambers. These criminals deal in modern day animal vivisection too. Incredible that humanity hasn't erased such a bunch of bastards from the face of the earth.

bollocks to bayer

Dismantle I.G. Farben Group: First Cdn. Divison Says that.

28.09.2012 06:54

When the First Canadian Division was in Germany in 1945 it made a point to point out that the Nazis Chemical Warfare Corp. was a pseudo science and ought therefore to be dismantled.
The U.S. Imperialist Army, as Supreme Commander, said no it is a billion dollar chemical corp. and so to pacifiy the peoples, they named changed it to Bayer, Basf, and Hoekest.

They then proceeded to interlock the directives with their chemical warfare corporations Dupont, Dow, and Monsanto. Those six companies have been waging a chemical war against the entire ecological organic web-of-life planet wide ever since. No wonder the bees die.
It is not possible for the web-of-life to 'live on' with such chemical poisoning. The article is correct in pin pointing Bayer as one of the group of I.G. Farben, the nazis chemical warfare corporations that should have been dismantled as a pseudo Corporation at the end of the Second World War.

Workers of the world unite!! End pollution wars, not endless wars for more and more pollution. You yet have a world to win.

I"itseems to be pretty much an accepted fact these days that Bayers Neonicotinoid Pesticides are responsible for the mass Bee Deaths"

Errrrr no its not. There are a number of theories and the link to Bayer is unlikely as there are many instances of bee death where their products are not present. The far more likely explanation is Boman disease linked to a decrease in urban foliage

Keen bee keeper

UNEP report

28.09.2012 10:35

Sorry I have to disagree with you Keen Bee Keeper, if you have some links to back up your argument please bosch 'em up. The CBGnetwork has been busy with this campaign for over five years. In that time there have seen a number of Green Wash campaigns by the Corporations who make billions out of selling huge quantities of these poisons.
Mass Colony disporder and other fictional distractions, it is possible that Mobile phones also affect Bees but as far I know there is no conclusive evidence.
In the case the case of the Mass Bee Deaths in Bavaria, we have absolute prove that Clothianiadin / Neonicotinoids killed these bees, on the strength of this evidence we are suing Bayer. You don't take on a multi national company like Bayer, in the law courts on the strength of hear say, they have the funds to pay for a bus full of lawyers and we instead rely on donations from the public, CBGnetwork has no backing from institutions of other wise.

Save the Bees
BAYER pesticides causing global bee decline

Since the early 1990s BAYER managers have known the risks which neonicotinoid pesticides create for the environment. The company downplayed the risks, submitted deficient studies to authorities and viewed the massive decline of honey bees and pollinators as 'collateral damage'. Although these ingredients are already banned in several countries, the company refuses to halt their production. Food security is in danger because of reduced pollination. The Coalition Against BAYER Dangers needs support for the campaign „Save the beees!“.

For twenty years Imidacloprid has been one of the most used insecticides in the world for field and horticultural crops. It is often used as seed-dressing, especially for maize, sunflower, and canola.
Imidacloprid is sold under the trade names 'Gaucho', 'Confidor', 'Chinook' and 'Imprimo'.
Imidacloprid is BAYER´s best-selling pesticide, last year´s sales were 400 million Euro. More than 1.000 tonnes are exported annually to 120 countries.
Since patent protection for Imidacloprid has expired, BAYER brought a similar neonicotinoid to the market called Clothianidin (product names: 'Elado', 'Poncho'). Sales have amounted to 192 million Euro last year. The substance is mainly used for seed coating of maize and canola.

United Nations warnings
Neonicotinoids are systemic chemicals that spread from the seed throughout the plant and disrupt the nervous system of any insect which comes into contact. The neurotoxins travel into the pollen and the nectar and can poison beneficial insects such as bees. The advent of neonicotinoids coincided with the occurrence of large bee-kills, first in France, later on also in Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Eastern Europe, India, the USA and Brazil.
Last spring the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) published a report on bee mortalities around the world. BAYER pesticides are listed there as a threat to numerous animals. According to the report, "Systemic insecticides such as those used as seed coatings, which migrate from the roots through the entire plant, all the way to the flowers, can potentially cause toxic chronic exposure to non-target pollinators. Various studies revealed the high toxicity of chemicals such as Imidacloprid, Clothianidin, Thiamethoxam and associated ingredients for animals such as cats, fish, rats, rabbits, birds and earthworms. Laboratory studies have shown that such chemicals can cause losses of sense of direction, impair memory and brain metabolism, and cause mortality."

deficient studies
Honeybees pollinate over 70 out of 100 crops that provide 90% of the world's food. They pollinate most fruits and vegetables-including apples, oranges, strawberries, onions and carrots. The declining bee population has potentially serious impacts on food security and livelihood of farmers.
An internal evaluation by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) describes the studies submitted by BAYER as "inadequate". According to the EPA memorandum, honey bees in particular are at considerable risk. Because the product’s registration is based precisely on these studies, we are demanding the registration be withdrawn immediately.

banned in France and Germany
The French government declared that the treatment of seeds with Imidacloprid leads to significant risks for bees. Imidacloprid was banned as a seed dressing for sunflowers in 1999, after a third of French honeybees died following its widespread use. Five years later it was also banned as a treatment for sweetcorn.
In May 2008 beekeepers in southern Germany reported that two thirds of their hives suddenly died. Wild living insects decreased likewise. The German government immediately banned the use of Bayer pesticides as a seed dressing for corn and canola.
In the meantime 1.2 million signatures have been collected to underscore our demand to totally withdraw GAUCHO and PONCHO. The signatures were handed over to the BAYER board at the recent shareholder meeting. However, the management continously disregards all studies and reports that show the dangers and harmful effects of neonicotinoids.

Please support our campaign!
We need to ask for your support. Our international campaigns are expensive to run. We receive no public support and depend entirely on your donations. We urgently have to intensify our campaign „Save the bees“ which we´re leading in cooperation with beekeepers from all over the world.
We entirely depend on your help. Please support our work. Our strength results from international solidarity and cooperation.
