ASSPUK, JISGE and UK KFA slam UN "human rights " boss's anti DPRK slander

Criticises the UN Human Rights Commissioner for her hostile stance towards the Democratic People's Republic of Korea

The Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK, Juche Idea Study Group of England and UK Korean Friendship Association today issued the following joint statement condemning the remarks of Ms Navi Pillay, made on the 14th of January the so-called "United Nations High Commissioner for Human rights";

We are shocked and outraged that a UN official should call for a "so-called investigation" into what it calls "human rights" in the DPRK. This is an insult, a gross affront to the DPRK and its dignified social system chosen by its peoples . At the same time it is declaration of war against the DPRK as well as interference in the affairs of the DPRK.
It actually goes against the charter of the UN .Article 2 of the UN charter point 7 states " Nothing contained in the present Charter shall authorize the United Nations to intervene in matters which are essentially within the domestic jurisdiction of any state or shall require the Members to submit such matters to settlement under the present Charter" and furthermore Article 2 point 1 states "the Organization is based on the principle of the sovereign equality of all its Members."
The UN High Commissioner is acting in a discriminatory and partisan manner against the DPRK. Why doesn't she call for an investigation into US human rights abuses over many decades which include the illegal rendition and detention of prisoners in Guantanamo bay as well as the oppression and kiling of Afro-Americans both by the US state and organisations like the Ku Klux Klan. Why doesn't Ms Pillay call for an investigation into the human rights record of south Korea since 1945 . Numerous massacres were carried out by past south Korean reactionary regimes , dissidents framed and executed on trumped up charges and in recent years many honest pro reunification activists such as Ro Su Hui have been arrested and jailed.
In actual fact there is no "human rights" issue in the DPRK this is just a fabrication cooked up by the imperialists and south Korean puppets. The DPRK's socialist system is based on the Juche idea which means that the people are the masters of everything. Therefore stress on put on the independent rights of the people. The DPRK's Socialist Constitution which includes stipulations about the right to work , provides a legal underpinning for the rights of DPRK citizens.
The allegations against the DPRK have already been exposed as clumsy and base falsifications from so-called "defectors" from the DPRK. These are in reality
people who have betrayed their precious and glorious socialist country of Juche for a few measly dollars. The ultimate authors of such stories are the US Central
Intelligence Agency and the south Korean National Intelligence Service.

The UN Human Rights Commission is just acting as another agency of US imperialism. It is trying to play the role of a shock brigade in US imperialism's anti-DPRK psychological warfare. Once again the UN is playing ashameful as a marionette of the US imperialists just as it did in the last Korean war and in recent years with the UNSC interference in the right of the DPRK to pursue space exploration. The so-called "human rights " issue cooked up by the US is the third prong of anti DPRK strategy to put pressure on the DPRK and stifle its socialist system, the other two prongs are the "nuclear issue" and "human rights " issue.
We hope that progressive and anti-imperialist organisations will stand four square behind the DPRK , the Juche socialist homeland, and smash these insidious attempts by US imperialism to demonise it.

We strongly urgethat the UN Human Rights Commissioner drops the demand for an investigation into the DPRK. We say US and UN hands off the DPRK !
