The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK together with the Juche Idea Study Group of England and the UK Korean Friendship Association issued the following joint statement in connection the recent UN Security Council resolution imposing yet more sanctions on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
We feel deeply angered by these sanctions which are an intolerable infringement on the independent rights of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and virtually an act of aggression against the DPRK. It is throwing down the gauntlet.
Firstly , we would like to ask the question are the US imperialists and their lackeys on the UN Security Council too stupid to understand that the sanctions imposed by resolution 2087 greatly increased tension rather than resolving it or calming the situation. Indeed "there are none so blind as those who cannot see". The nuclear test that the US imperialists are complaining about was in fact in response to the UN sanctions, it would have never happened if the UN had not imposed the sanctions.
Secondly, the UNSC are unfair, reactionary as well being duplicitous and hypocritical. It is the US that was the first country to not only test but use nuclear weapons in practice . It has carried out 1000 nuclear tests . On December 5th 2012 it carried out a sub-critical nuclear test in Nevada. Where was the outcry from the UN Security Council, why wasn't the issue referred to the UN Security Council ?
Thirdly, the sanctions represent a gross violation of the sovereignty of the DPRK. The DPRK has the right to self-defence including nuclear weapons. No one should attempt to take issue with this. The UN Security Council is acting as a puppet organisation of the US imperialists and its credibility is torn to shreds daily . The UN Security Council members stand discredited in front of the peoples of the world.
Fourthly, the UNSC sanctions are a mean and despicable attempt to slow down the economic development of the DPRK and block its scientific and technological development , after all why else would sanctions be put on the Academy of Natural Sciences of the DPRK. The UNSC trying to act as a shock brigade is the US imperialist scheme to strangle and stifle the Juche-based people-centred socialist system.
It is now time for the progressive people, working people, and anti-imperialists in the UK and all over the world to turn out in the anti-US anti-imperialist struggle to support the DPRK the bastion of socialism and anti-imperialist independence.
