A peaceful demonstration of disapproval!
We cannot let this moment pass without letting the world know that we have not forgotten.
From stealing the milk from our children, the SUS laws, the Brixton riots, through to the Miners Strike; form the sinking of the Belgrano, to the Poll Tax Riots; 4 million unemployed, The Battle of the Bean Field and later - the CJA - We Remember!
We Remember the destruction of our industries, the ruthless sell off of our services, how she filled the coffers of CEOs and the banks, unleashing a culture of greed and setting the stage for the economic strife we are experiencing now.
We will make our comment on the effect she had and the plan to spend millions of pounds on her state funeral.
Come and celebrate our liberty and freedom from tyranny! On the day that Maggie stands down, once and for all!
As soon as you hear she is dead make your way directly to Trafalgar Square... Or your local event - SEE LIST -There will only be a few hours before they begin to cordon off the square; to prevent the embarrassment of such a celebration. So it is important for us to make our way there as soon as the news is released! I would imagine trying to get there before mid-day on the day it is announced. If it is announced after dark then before mid-day the following day.
It is highly doubtful that parties planned for later dates will have escaped the police's notice and be allowed to happen without blockades and riot police in place around the square preventing access.
Though I very much hope all events are successful!
This is a Flash party so it will rely on word of mouth and you sending notice of it to as many people as you can via facebook and your email list or by text and twitter.
Please do this so that we can make a point and have a great time with a strong show of support, something that can't be ignored or go unreported...
The more the merrier!
Once you join you can forward the invite to all your friends by following the link in the corner. Or alternatively use the SHARE option and 'message friends' and the info will land in their inbox rather than just on a list of group invites... Also post to your home page regularly!

The coming days will be filled with some rather squalid and nasty, not to mention fake, accounts of her importance despite much of what she believed in being in a complete state of chaos now. Almost all of what she believed in no longer stands.
When its over, we can get on with the business of sweeping this regime away along with the veneer of all its most press friendly acolytes.
This will all be over soon.

Hey hey, blow the man down.

Everything Thatcher belived in is now dead. We don't live in a world of moneterism, the free market and Lassaize Faire Capitalism anymore...we live in a world of crisis, state aid, austerity and private sector bailouts from public sector funds. There is no small government anymore, just large scale monolithic cartels and monopolies. This world is not about small business and private enterprise, its about megalithic corporations and globalisation. The individual entrepreneur is extinct, pushed out by the Oligarch.
Absolutely nothing in the modern world relates to Thatcherism or any of the ideas that Thatcher espoused.
She was one of British politics most vainglorious failures and the only person who ever came close to matching that failure was Labours candidate for political glory, Tony Blair.
Everything these two villains stood for, is dead and dying.
A society that celebrates this degree of failure and puts it onto a pedestal is a society that is very obviously in a state of moral and logical decay.
The Anarchists are right, the heirarchy is just no bloody good.

As the 1st woman prime minister, she was at constant battle with her all male cabinet.
They tried to demonise her and turn her into a hate figure to get rid of her.
If she failed, it would have sent a clear message to all woman that woman cannot operate in a "man's world", it is too tough and cruel.
She didn't. She showed that woman can be as good and can be better than men.
And you lot of shits seem to have fallen for the bullshit that those men spread

Council Houses
08.04.2013 18:50
One of the first acts of her government was to launch a Right to Buy policy which came into force in 1980.
It allowed local authority tenants to purchase their council house at a discount of up to 70%. More than a million took up the offer under her premiership and a version of the scheme is still running today.

Not much of a legacy is it, when your life's work isn't strong enough to safeguard you a burial!
But never mind, the BBC, ITV, Guardian, Telegraph, Sun, Mirror, Star, Mail and Express are all working tirelessly to make sure that future generations have no choice but to consider Thatcher a hero of our time. We, the saps who lived through it, don't seem to be very important in this regard.
This is the legacy of Thatcher...popular totalitarianism.

If the only competent criticism they have managed to cobble together is about childrens milk or some other pointless droidal hymn then my point stands. If all they can do is bang on about Thatcher's resolve or Thatcher's policies or Thatcher's legacy then my point also stands.
This day is meaningless without the bigger picture.
This is 2013, not 1984!
Think fast.

10.04.2013 01:19
I have read the papers and its still not happening.
What's the problem, are ALL journalists in nappies? Does nobody remember what it was like under Thatcher? For such a supposedly important and historic premiership, the coverage so far sure is flimsy. One can only hope things improve by next Wednesday.
Where is the contemporary analysis. Thatcher sold off the housing stock of social houses and allowed carpet-baggers from all over to come in and capitalise the stock, drive the prices up just to leave us with the situation we have today. Large numbers of people can no longer afford to take part in a social policy that their parents had free access to. I will never be able to afford to spend £150/200,000 to buy a house. I will live for the rest of my life without the ability to own a property. That "luxury" doesn't exist for me.
But I will still have to pay NI contributions to keep this householding generation in pensions in their privately owned houses. And when I come to retire, I don't have any real expectation that a pension will be there for me, because the current generation have got this idea that you spend what you earn and look after yourself. I know too many people that are earning and not paying tax or NI. Every bastard is at it.
Thatcher's legacy for me is one that I will live with for life. Till the fucking day I die I will have that womans legacy vandalising every part of my life.
And all I hear on the TV and in the newspapers is what a wonderful and important figure she was, just because she was a politicain and ALL journo's have to keep the politicains happy.
Anon.

Fuck the witch is all I can say. She didn't give a flying fuck about people. Why should we give a fuck about her? Yet another evil cunt of a politician who cared more about the economy than the people her decisions directly affected. I had a drink to celebrate on Monday, I'm going to be partying tonight at 6pm and you know what? If there are any parties going off on Wednesday after the army have had to protect her funeral, I'm going to celebrate then as well.
Ding dong the witch is dead and we're fucking happy
