I did some research and I can safely say that behind the strategy of tension and the massacres there is also the Bilderberg group, a sort of Big Brother high above, which controls and maneuvers, Right Wing terrorists and Freemasons for it's purpose."

This is a person who took part in the original investigations who states in the book that at the time I would never have even contemplated
that an invisible world government could even exist let alone that it was responsible for the 20 + Terrorist campaign.
It was only due to his recent research and investigations that new information came to light.

Grassi's investigations turned up numerous methods used in the function of a unorthodox warfare. Judge Grassi speaks of the powers of the American ambassador in Rome, "who has the power to order (or ask for), but not to direct military actions that are necessary to support the plan." Grassi referred this strategy to Gladio. In addition, he had also learned of the existence of "a direct dependency on the section of the Italian service of the CIA's SAD (Special Activities Division) , this section ran the Stay Behind Italian structure in the sixties and seventies."

CONCLUSIONS
A even more severe judgment was made by the aforementioned judge Grassi of Bologna, who investigated the Piazza della Loggia and the Bombing of the Express train Italicus.
The unveiling of Gladio / Stay Behind, has revealed some very relevant information regarding all the terrorist attacks. . The first was the architect of the independence of the Congo, Castro was the liberator of Cuba from Batista's dictatorship, the third was the president of the Dominican Republic, the fourth was president of South Vietnam, the fifth was the Chilean general close to Allende. All but one were all successfully Eliminated, Castro survived. . [... ] Typical technique used by the CIA was to freeze the Investigative process, set in motion by a covert action with agents in every department of law Enforcement, Justice dept, Police, protecting the Guilty parties.

Another interesting aspect of Aleandri's statements are the references to personal his relationship with Gelli, in the name of Alfredo De Felice, a member of the same right-wing organization, " bound by ties of friendship to Federico Umberto D'Amato » Aleandri's, who self-confessed to the attempted massacre at the CSM in 1979 (failed bomb plot), stated that he often went to report to Gelli, usually on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, at the Excelsior Hotel (in the center of Rome), where they went to visit to the head of P2, also present were the likes of D'Amato, the journalist Franco Solomon, Umberto Ortolani, the head of the SID Vito Miceli ( P2 card number 491), the Secretary of the Treasury Gaetano Stammati (card 543) 8. Referring to a document of great value, I got to now of it's existence thanks to Gerardo D'Ambrosio: This is the third and least known secret report of June 1967, found in Montebelluna, during the investigation into the massacre of Piazza Fontana, the ratio ( RSDlIz n. 230 5.VI.l967) - Like the other documents found on that occasion, it is likely that it came from Guido Giannettini (AKA agent Z) . The text, overlooked at the time of the investigation, was instead of extraordinary importance. It may be inferred, albeit with the prudence that has marked our journey so far, that the thread that binds all the carnage once again leads to Washington. The report stated: "The existence of the occult war is nothing new. This report outlines the current framework . In the absence of an overt war, it must be considered that the occult was the strategy of tension. At the end of World War II, to contain the communist tide the Western victors decided to create an 'alliance between the Catholic the secular liberal forces with a Meeting ground was organized out of which came the NEI (Équipes Nouvelles Internationales), based in Brussels, a sort of Masonic-Catholic Liaison Office (my italics, author's note) with the function of promoting the development of most progressive Christian Democrat forces in the old continent.

These crucial questions can be answered, at least in terms of probabilities. Referring to a document of great value, I got to now of it's existence thanks to Gerardo D'Ambrosio: This is the third and least known secret report of June 1967, found in Montebelluna, during the investigation into the massacre of Piazza Fontana, the ratio ( RSDlIz n. 230 5.VI.l967) - Like the other documents found on that occasion, it is likely that it came from Guido Giannettini (AKA agent Z) . The text, overlooked at the time of the investigation, was instead of extraordinary importance. It may be inferred, albeit with the prudence that has marked our journey so far, that the thread that binds all the carnage once again leads to Washington. The report stated: "The existence of the occult war is nothing new. This report outlines the current framework . During the investigation carried out by judge Arcai it emerged that during the Vanguard Catholic conference, held at Milan, March 24, 1957, the lawyer Luigi Mattioli made reference to the statements made by Cardinal Montini at a meeting of national and regional executives of MACI. According to the cardinal, the movement of avant-garde Catholics had to act against materialism and Marxist doctrines contrary to Catholicism, by the monitoring of adverse organizations. Mattioli also claimed "the nascent Italian Republic should make use of 20-30,000 men prepared for everything willing to resume the civil war under the leadership of the General Command of the Army». Montini, in turn, reiterated at a conference on 15-16 October 1955 in Milan the need to "know the enemy camp, observe them better and detect their plans. The confirmation of the attachment CIA-masonry-Vatican was also confirmed in from a secret file seized from Licio Gelli in Uruguay, in the name of Federico Umberto D'Amato, which read "top secret confidential information collected by Dr. D'Amato concerning [00. ] cooperation, dating back back more than twenty years, with environments Pro Deo Vatican-OSS-CIA ». In Licio Gelli's personal Papers / archive there were documents that mention Morlion, Dominican Father, regarding information services and also belonging to " network OSS chief "and founder of Pro DE0.

Occorreva un radicale mutamento di impostazione, e che da parte della magistratura si accetti fondamentalmente l'idea che queste responsabilità vanno ricercate in quegli apparati istituzionali che non per casuali deviazioni ma sistematicamente e in adempimento del vero compito loro attribuito, in quanto strutture parallele, si sono resi responsabili di tutta una serie di eventi il cui fine ultimo è sempre quello della conservazione e del rafforzamento del potere.
Il giudice Grassi sarebbe così giunto alla convinzione che in queste stragi avessero operato «strutture di guerra non convenzionale [ ... ], estrinsecazione di una strategia internazionale, frutto di accordi occulti tra i servizi, e di altre iniziative di carattere sovranazionale, che hanno riguardato l'Italia e altri Stati occidentali». La diagnosi era precisa, perché trovava un riscontro formidabile nel documento inedito allegato alla requisitoria di Alessandrini su Piazza Fontana. Si trattava del rapporto RSD/IZeta n. 230 del 5 giugno 1967, che descriveva l'esistenza di un governo mondiale invisibile, che aveva interferito, e interferiva per anni con ogni mezzo, nella vita politica di vari Paesi o dell'occidente, tra cui l'Italia. L'oggetto del rapporto era "Gruppi di pressione internazionale in occidente". Il documento si articolava in un testo base e tre note informative riguardanti la CIA, il gruppo Bilderberg e l'ADA (Americans for Democratic Action) e conteneva delle conclusioni di estremo interesse: ad esempio, il fatto che si fosse scatenata una guerra occulta non ortodossa a suon di stragi e omicidi in vari territori dell'occidente. Una frase, nell'introduzione, suggeriva di «seguirne gli sviluppi», cosa che faceva presupporre che quella guerra fosse ancora in atto quando l'estensore aveva stilato tali note.
4. LE STRAGI DEL 1974: PIAZZA DELLA LOGGIA E IL TRENO ITALICUS

Grassi inquadrò così una pluralità di apparati impiegati in funzione di una guerra non ortodossa. Forse non sapeva se essi rispondessero a una sola "centrale", sebbene inquadrasse in Gladio tale struttura, richiamando la descrizione di Vinciguerra. Questi parlò anche dei legami di Delfo Zorzi, che aveva ammesso contatti con un altissimo funzionario del ministero degli Interni e che «in Italia aveva operato una organizzazione NATO alla quale sono riconducibili i drammi e le tragedie del Paese e che, di volta in volta, si è avvalsa di organizzazioni secondarie o da lei stessa create. Ad esempio, la loggia P2». E riferì che nel 1974 c'era stato uno scontro durissimo nella CIA, che aveva portato all'esclusione di John Jesus Angleton. Disse ancora Vinciguerra - teste che ovviamente Grassi definiva attendibile - che «la strage dell'Italicus faceva parte della progressione che doveva portare allo stato di emergenza». Il giudice affermò, per deduzione logica, che «tale strategia è stata elaborata per operare su scala mondiale e, in particolare, in quei Paesi in occidente più esposti ai cambiamenti di regime e alla presa del potere anche con mezzi democratici da parte delle sinistre, come l'Italia [ ... ] e della strategia in questione [ ... ] gli Stati Uniti d'America sono stati i più attivi fautori».
Si ricordi che la sentenza del giudice Grassi - che solo per miracolo e dietro minaccia di ricorso mi procurai presso l'archivio di palazzo Giustiniani - è stata di fatto tenuta segreta-fino al 2011. In essa si parlava dei poteri dell'ambasciatore americano a Roma, «che può richiedere ma non dirigere le azioni militari che si rendessero necessarie a sostegno del piano». Grassi riferiva questa strategia a Gladio. Inoltre, aveva anche appreso dell'esistenza di «una dipendenza diretta dalla CIA della sezione SAD del servizio italiano, sezione che negli anni Sessanta e Settanta gestiva la struttura Stay Behind italiana».
E dunque il giudice Grassi aveva inquadrato l'attentato dell'Italicus nelle operazioni Gladio, come del resto si potrebbe includere in quella partita la strage di Piazza Fontana.

Un giudizio ancora più severo venne dal già citato giudice Grassi di Bologna, che indagò sulla strage di Piazza della Loggia e del treno Italicus:
Lo svelamento di Gladio/Stay Behind, apparve di estremo interesse in tutti i processi per strage. Molteplici elementi avevano fatto ritenere l'esistenza di collegamenti tra lo stragismo che aveva insanguinato l'Italia dal 1969 e le strategie di provocazione e di morte che avevano visto coinvolti eversori di destra assieme ai vertici di servizi segreti nel contesto di attività anticomuniste. [ ... ] [La tesi che] Gladio avesse unicamente una funzione antinvasione apparve smentita da numerosi e concordanti indizi.
Scrisse ancora Grassi:
I rapporti del Comitato di studio sulle operazioni governative del Senato degli Stati Uniti d'America e in particolare quelle sul coinvolgimento nei complotti destinati all'assassinio di leaders stranieri sono importanti. Questo Comitato è in possesso di quello redatto il 20.11.75 dedicato alle covert operations destinate alla eliminazione fisica di alcuni leaders che lottarono contro le dittature nazifasciste: tra questi Patrice Lumumba, Fidel Castro, Rafael Trujillo, Ngo Dihn Diem e René Schneider. Il primo fu artefice della indipendenza del Congo, Castro fu liberatore di Cuba dalla dittatura di Batista, il terzo fu il presidente della Repubblica Dominicana, il quarto fu presidente del Vietnam del Sud, il quinto era il generale cileno vicino ad Allende. Eliminazioni tutte riuscite tranne quella contro Castro. [ ... ] Tecnica tipica utilizzata dalla CIA era di congelare i'apparato investigativo, messo in moto da una covert action, precostituendo uno o più colpevoli intossicati.
Gladio anche servì gli interessi di politici italiani coerenti con il progetto di stabilizzazione. Questa entità, sempre sfuggita ai rigori della legge, fruì della massima protezione istituzionale, riuscendo a crescere e a espandersi oltre misura, sopravvivendo a ogni reazione da parte dello Stato legale. E divenne sempre più pericolosa e minacciosa. Coloro che tentarono di conoscerla e

rivelarne struttura, composizione e scopi furono spietatamente assassinati: tra essi Giovanni Falcone, che ne parlò nel suo diario consegnato alla giornalista Liliana Milella. Crimini orrendi si mescolarono al nascere e all'estinguersi di governi, al sorgere e al tramonto di leader politici, a lotte sanguinose per la conquista delle maggiori cariche istituzionali, dei posti di controllo dell'economia e della finanza, dei centri di controllo dell'informazione e della disinformazione. Una storia all'insegna del più spietato machiavellismo. Una storia tragica che rischia di ripetersi. Come abbiamo visto, di questa struttura clandestina, spesso salvata dal segreto' di Stato opposto da chi aveva interesse a coprire se stesso, facevano parte organicamente Cosa Nostra, terroristi neri, imprese economiche, servizi segreti e massoneria, manovrati da OSS e CIA. A fare da collante fu la loggia P2 infiltrata in ogni organismo dello Stato e nelle alte sfere del potere politico.
In verità, respinsi per anni l'idea di una tale rete eversiva. Ma a instillare il germe del dubbio che non fosse pura fantasia fu un giovane universitario di Ordine Nuovo, Paolo Aleandri, che interrogai per giorni per l'omicidio di un balordo della Magliana. Fu lui a svelarmi, nel 1982, il piano antinsurrezionale esistente nelle casseforti del Comando generale dell'arma dei carabinieri.6 Questo piano, che avrebbe dovuto portare all'arresto di sindacalisti ed esponenti politici e militari e di altri soggetti istituzionali, era sostenuto da "una parte della Democrazia cristiana e da ambienti conservatori del Vaticano, che prospettavano in termini drammatici il pericolo di un avvento comunista al potere". E dunque anche Oltretevere c'era chi appoggiava questa strategia? Da cattolico, non volli credere al ruolo del Vaticano, che contraddiceva il messaggio di pace e di amore predicato dalla Chiesa. E tuttavia volli registrare tutta la confessione di Paolo Aleandri, che poi ho ritrovato interamente negli atti della Commissione P2.

Altro aspetto interessante del racconto di Aleandri riguardò i rapporti personali con Gelli, per incarico di Alfredo De Felice, esponente della stessa organizzazione di destra, «legato da vincoli di amicizia a Federico Umberto D'Amato». Aleandri, reo confesso della strage mancata al CSM del 1979, andava spesso a rapporto da Gelli, il martedì e il mercoledì, presso l'hotel Excelsior, ove si recavano in visita al capo della P2, D'Amato, il giornalista Salomone, Umberto Ortolani, il capo del SID Vito Miceli (tessera P2 numero 491), il ministro del Tesoro Gaetano Stammati (tessera 543). I testimoni, da me chiamati, ammisero tranquillamente i rapporti con Gelli, mentre la magistratura romanà stava assolvendo gli affiliati da qualunque ipotesi di reato connesso all'appartenenza alla P2.
Ma Aleandri era venuto a Conoscenza anche dei rapporti di Ordine Nuovo con un agente della CIA, l'ingegnere John Fenwick, e con esponenti vaticani. All'epoca dell'interrogatorio, fui tentato di alzarmi e di andarmene: mi sembravano invenzioni belle e buone e una mera perdita di tempo. Oggi quelle dichiarazioni di trent'anni fa sono preziose. Le circostanze riferite da Aleandri sui rapporti di Ordine Nuovo con massoneria, CIA, SID, settori del Vaticano e della Democrazia cristiana sono utili alla nostra ricostruzione. Del resto, il pentito ebbe credito da molti magistrati, tra cui il giudice Rosario Minna di Firenze, il PM Claudio Nunziata di Bologna, e la stessa Commissione P29• Inoltre, come abbiamo già avuto modo di dire, lo stesso Moro aveva affrontato con lucidità, dalla sua prigione, il problema della matrice delle stragi del 1969, affondando il bisturi della sua tagliente analisi nel cuore del problema e individuando «accanto a responsabilità che si collocano fuori dall'Italia, indulgenze e connivenze di organi dello Stato e della Democrazia cristiana in alcuni suoi settori». Ma l'intuizione dello statista democristiano ebbe riscontri? SB era (ed è?) una struttura nata in Italia o ha avuto e ha padrini fuori del nostro

Paese? A questi interrogativi cruciali è possibile dare una risposta, almeno in termini di probabilità. Facendo riferimento a un documento di grande valore, che ho potuto conoscere grazie a Gerardo D'Ambrosio: si tratta del terzo e meno noto rapporto segreto del giugno 1967, trovato a Montebelluna, durante l'indagine sulla strage di Piazza Fontana, il rapporto (RSDlIz n. 230 del 5.VI.l967)-11 Come gli altri documenti rinvenuti in quell'occasione, è probabile che provenisse da Giannettini. Il testo, trascurato all'epoca dalle indagini, è invece di straordinaria importanza. Se ne può dedurre, sia pure con quella prudenza che ha connotato il nostro viaggio finora, che il filo che lega tutte le stragi abbia ancora una volta origine a Washington. Il rapporto affermava: «L'esistenza della guerra occulta non è una novità. Il presente rapporto ne delinea il quadro attuale»l2. In assenza di una guerra palese, deve ritenersi che quella occulta fosse la strategia della tensione. Leggendo il documento, si trova conferma di un organismo di dimensione mondiale di cui Gladio è l'articolazione. Ma c'è un aspetto nuovo: ~br />
Al termine della seconda guerra mondiale, per contenere la marea comunista i vincitori occidentali decidevano un' alleanza delle forze liberali laiche con quelle cattoliche. Terreno di incontro erano le NEI (Nouvelles Équipes Internationales), con sede a Bruxelles, una sorta di ufficio di collegamento cattolico-massonico (corsivo mio, n.d.a.) con la funzione di promuovere lo sviluppo delle forze democristiane più progressiste in tutto il vecchio continente.
E dunque l'intesa eni tra cattolici e liberali laici, cioè la massoneria. Ritroveremo questa incredibile alleanza anche tra le Mura Leonine, con la presenza di personaggi del calibro di Michele Sindona, e di Roberto Calvi, entrambi iscritti alla loggia P2.

Il rapporto deplorava il tentativo di escludere le responsabilità del Vaticano quando sottolineava la strana mancanza di ogni cenno all'Opus Dei, che soprattutto nel caso della Spagna, ha una funzione importante per la copertura della sovversione, anche comunista. [00.] È evidente il tentativo di scagionare parzialmente il Vaticano e le più alte gerarchie della Chiesa Cattolica dalla responsabilità dell'azione sovversiva in Occidente (corsivo mio, n.d.a.) che non avviene soltanto per iniziative personali.
L'aspetto stupefacente di questa storia è che uno dei principali referenti dell'intelligence americana in Italia era la Pro Deo, l'università domenicana di Roma, «da sempre crocevia di incontri tra uomini della CIA, alti prelati e grandi industriali». Il rettore della Pro Deo era «padre Felix Morlion, fotografato da "Mondo d'Oggi" di Pecorelli, assieme a tre agenti del servizio segreto statunitense, ai ministri democristiani Giuseppe Spataro e Mariano Rumor».
L'alleanza tra Vaticano e massoneria darà i suoi frutti non solo in termini finanziari, per gli aiuti offerti allo IOR da Sindona. Una conferma in tal senso verrebbe da Tassan Din Bruno, amministratore della editrice Rizzoli, iscritto alla P2. Il 17 marzo 1983, dice ai magistrati di Milano Dell'Osso e Fenizia che indagano sulla bancarotta dell'Ambrosiano, che Gelli e Umberto Ortolani, vertici della loggia, «avevano rapporti di dimestichezza con il Vaticano». Ortolani «gentiluomo di camera del papa» in una sontuosa villa a Grottaferrata, confidò a Tassan Din che in quel luogo si erano riuniti «tredici cardinali suoi ospiti e avevano deciso, in una sorta di pre-conclave, l'elevazione del cardinale Montini, il futuro Paolo VI, alla dignità papale»16. Ma c'è di più. Negli ambienti cattolici, proprio sotto la guida del cardinale Montini, si attivò a Milano il MACI (Movimento avanguardia cattolica italiana) che aveva tra i suoi dirigenti Pietro Cattaneo, coinvolto nelle indagini sulla strage di

Brescia, di cui si parlava negli atti del giudice istruttore di Brescia Giovanni Arcai. Nell'inchiesta del giudice Arcai emerse che durante il congresso di Avanguardia cattolica milanese, svoltosi il 24 marzo 1957, l'avvocato Luigi Mattioli fece riferimento alle dichiarazioni del cardinal Montini ai dirigenti nazionali e regionali del MACI. Secondo il porporato, il movimento d'Avanguardia cattolica doveva agire contro il materialismo marxista e le dottrine contrarie al cattolicesimo, vigilando sulle organizzazioni avverse. Mattioli sostenne anche «la nascente Repubblica italiana doveva valersi di 20-30.000 uomini preparati a tutto disposti a riprendere la guerra civile sotto la guida del Comando generale dell'arma». Montini a sua volta ribadì in un convegno del 15-16 ottobre 1955 a Milano la necessità di «conoscere il campo avversario, osservarli meglio e rilevare i loro piani. Perciò vi dico; siete chiamati a combattere secondo i tempi e i bisogni. Abbiamo davanti un fronte teso e terribile. La Chiesa accetta la vostra collaborazione, la incoraggia la sostiene». Su «Panorama» del febbraio 1976 uscirono anticipazioni su un libro di Roberto Faenza secondo le quali Montini aveva collaborato con la CIA negli ultimi anni Cinquanta2o.
La conferma allegarne CIA-massoneria- Vaticano veniva anche da un fascicolo segreto sequestrato a Licio Gelli in Uruguay, intestato a Federico Umberto D'Amato, in cui si leggeva «top secret, le notizie riservate raccolte sul dottor D'Amato riguardano [00.] collaborazione, che risale ad oltre venti anni, con gli ambienti Pro Deo Vaticano-OSS-CIA» 21. Nell'archivio di Gelli, inoltre, si parla dei servizi informativi facenti capo a Felix Morlion, padre domenicano" «capo rete OSS» e fondatore della Pro Deo. Nel documento si affermava:
Inizialmente i servizi USA-OSS erano coperti dalla organizzazione CIP, Centri informazione Pro Deo. Collaboravano con Morlion, che aspirava a un regime franchista, la signora Brady Anna, Obolonsky, Srnider,Sleser»

Nello stesso anno si gettarono le basi di una collaborazione tra l'Ufficio Affari Riservati e il monsignor Ferrero e il dr Croce curavano il settore Pro Deo. Gli uffici di questi servizi erano posti a via del Tritone, 122, poi a via Pola, 12; la direzione e il vaglio del materiale informativo erano fatti di concerto tra mons. Ferrero e il dr D'Amato.
Ma c'è qualcosa di più per chiarire questo rebus. Padre Morlion, era non solo capo dei servizi segreti vaticani ma, secondo Sergio Flamigni, un «agente della CIA». Del resto, già dopo l'armistizio dell'8 settembre 1943, gli USA sollecitarono il cardinale Montini, allora consigliere di Pio XII, a stabilire un servizio informazioni del Vaticano tra le due Italie, quella liberata e quella ancora occupata dai nazisti. Per gli americani, il "fattore v" era cruciale. E a maggior ragione lo fu per tutti gli anni Settanta e Ottanta, quando in Vaticano era in corso uno scontro tra i "progressisti" di Casaroli e i conservatori dell'Opus Dei, sostenuti dal papa e dal cardinal Marcinkus. Agli atti risulterebbe addirittura la richiesta di documenti compromettenti verso il capo dello IOR da parte del segretario particolare del cardinale Casaroli, come racconterà l'agente segreto Francesco Pazienza:
Tale richiesta si inquadrava in uno scontro feroce, all'interno del Vaticano, tra due fazioni, l'una nella quale si inseriscono oltre al Cardinale Casaroli, i cardinali Samorè, Silvestrini e Pio Laghi; l'altra facente capo al Marcinkus, cui appartengono mons. Virgilio Levi e mons. Luigi Cheli, Nunzio Apostolico all'ONU. La fazione capeggiata da Marcinkus aveva grossa influenza sul papa Giovanni Paolo II.
La recente apertura degli archivi americani, inoltre, non ha fatto altro che confermare il ruolo eversivo del governo USA e la sua costante interferenza negli affari italiani in sintonia con il Vaticano. Ne è un esempio significativo un telegramma segreto dell'ambasciatore Graham Martin a Kissinger del 12 gennaio 1970, un mese dopo gli attentati del 12 dicembre. In esso Martin affermava:

Vi sono crescenti indizi che l'elemento più impensabile nella politica italiana - il ricorso allo scioglimento del Parlamento e alle elezioni anticipate - è attualmente preso in seria considerazione dall'unico uomo che può assumere una simile decisione, il presidente Saragat [ ... ]. Saragat potrebbe sciogliere le Camere per nuove elezioni in primavera. Se ciò avvenisse e se i rapporti con il Vaticano (che procedono molto bene) ci aiutassero ad appoggiare la DC, potrebbe nascere un governo italiano orientato al centro. Un regime più stabile in Italia ci sarebbe utile nel Mediterraneo.
Dopo aver descritto alcuni gruppi di pressione cattolici creati in Europa, il rapporto di Montebelluna riconosceva che «questi gruppi internazionali stanno portando nel mondo libero un disorientamento e un caos generale, da una parte i comunisti attraverso gli agit prop del partito, da un'altra parte ancora gli americani attraverso la CIA, i sindacati, le associazioni studentesche, i Corpi della Pace, l'azione nella stampa e nelle agenzie internazionali di informazione».
A questa struttura fu garantito l'appoggio di mafia e 'ndrangheta, incaricate in tutta Italia dei lavori più sporchi, tra cui «l'eliminazione di personalità istituzionali», come il capo della polizia e i magistrati. Il ruolo della CIA, cruciale per finanziamenti e fornitura di armi ed esplosivi ai gladiatori, viene messo in evidenza da esponenti di organizzazioni neofasciste, tra cui Carlo Digilio di Ordine Nuovo.
Il presidente della Repubblica Cossiga esortò a «rassegnarci a convivere col potere mafioso, perché il potere mafioso, della 'ndrangheta e quello camorrista non ci sono estranei». E ricordò che «in tempi più recenti, quando gli americani videro che i comunisti si stavano avvicinando troppo all'area del potere, fecero della P2 un' associazione iperatlantista». Il fine era «quello di essere informati e ritardare il più possibile l'andata al potere dei comunisti e di avere a disposizione un ultimo baluardo di democrazia qualora la situazione fosse precipitata».
