Jim Boyling is now known..Jason, who specialised in cracked computer software as an entry, driving the van to the Earth First gathering, cracking the convergence centre squat (along with Boyling) for the Mayday 2000 London action...... Also there was Richard over from Israel. Jason and Richard lived together. At an RTS weekend away at a squatted farm in Luton Richard was very keen on 'structuring' RTS. Richard claimed to be a carpenter working in a theatre in the west end. Do not let these kind of people put you off from doing the do.

Jason (SDS) I found out from a friend involved in working through these things. Jason went on - after RTS, to be part of the organising group against DSEI in both 2001 and 2003. In 20001 I wrote on one of the fancy flyers we were accustomed by then to put out " something beautifull is going to happen" (enigmatic stuff like this was par for the course). The date of the action was september 11. As the planes hit the world trade center in New York I had a call from Jason who was outside the police lines telling me what was going on (he was sitting by a media van watching the monitors). Well us ex RTS lot had a hell of a reputation by then (we'd dissolved the group just a few months before) but was he seriously gauging my reaction?! Did he really think there was a connection? As for Richard like I said he was living with Jason. No way would an SDS spook live with an activist (unless they were State raping them). Anyhow he was pretty low key but gave off a military feel. Obviously everyone in Israel - unless the refuse - go into the IDF. Afterwards they tend to head for Goa or Kerala and get off their heads. Richard was wound tight, very disciplined and uncomfortable around us.

This should not have been released.

This is a very serious allegation and as some of the people involved with this know full well a long way from being a fact. At present there are simply a number of allegations that have yet to be proved true.

I would suggest this is hidden until the further investiagation is completed.

As someone who was close to the person involved and who has spent quite a bit of time working on getting enough evidence to release this - it is very annoying it is coming out like this. There are a number of people working on a collective response to this, including trying to contact people who knew him, and this undermines what we're trying to do. This kind of thing shouldn't be released without all the evidence to back it up, which is what we're trying to do. Please could this article be hidden in the meantime as it is not helpful and not a good way to release information.

This is not gatekeeping - this has been a collective investigation and response by those who knew him well. All involved want the information in the public domain - but want it there because of thorough investigation and evidence - not random comments on Indymedia which don't make sense and aren't evidenced. Let alone naming another person you have no proof about. Why undermine a collective effort? Why publish the information in such an arbitary unevidenced way? Why name other people?

I stick by my original point - this post needs to be hidden until the information can be published with evidence backing it up. This is not helpful to anyone - least of all the people who knew, worked and were close to him.

Well it might be better for your perception of the current level of infiltration of the minor campaigns that you are involved with however for those of us whose activist work is directly challenging the state the situation is rather different. Police, Security Services and Private Military Contractor infiltration of important campaigns is at an all time high in this country and there are two infiltrators I know of who are actively destroying a major group because it has become far too influential.

Firstly, evidence is what is needed to "finally tell the truth". This is what we've been trying to compile - a comprehensive timeline which also collates the evidence against him - which can be presented as a rational piece of research rather than assumptions.

Secondly, letting people know - both to gather stories together, but also to lessen the psychological impact for those involved. And to involve those people in the process - to show them the evidence and see if the agree with it. If you are the person mentioned involved in DSEi, an old friend has been trying to contact you to involve you in this process.

Surely it should be a massive step to name an old friend as a spy? And calling any activist a spy, whether ten years ago, or in the present, shouldn't be done without presenting the evidence. Surely it shouldn't be done without huge care and attention to those affected? It doesn't matter if was ten years ago, it's still incredibly painful for a lot of people. Not only that, but you've named two, and have no idea whether you have any evidence about the second???

I don't know whether this allegation is true or not. But it's clear that it's an incredibly clumsy "outing", with no verification or evidence. Unfortunately this just places so much doubt about the whole matter that it's arguably worse than no outing at all (especially as it's 10 years after the fact).
