Table SPM.3 shows that the lowest prediction of a 0.3°C rise would only have occurred if atmospheric levels of greenhouse gases had remained at the year 2000 level. Obviously that is no longer possible, since atmospheric levels have already risen. Also, under the A1FI scenario global temperatures could rise to a maximum of 6.4°C above the 1980-1999 level. That is close to 7.4°C above pre-industrial temperatures.

Why not write a letter to the BBC instead of whinging about it here?
