My brother is old school Soul Crew, and grew up with Marsh. He says Marsh was never NF or BNP and part of their mob were black lads for many years. Marshs head went on him after his then wife had an affair and he became increasingly mental and ended up attacking Celtic fans with a knuckleduster then joining the EDL. Hes never seen at his usual haunts and has fallen out with and had a few fights with people who were formerly his best mates, not because of what hes involved in, more that hes just a lunatic. He doesn't touch drugs, as he says they fund the taliban but he is as mad as a box of frogs. Hes on twitter as @wegowherewewant where he claims he lives in Spain. Not sure if thats true but hes not been spotted in any barry/cardiff pubs for about two years. Hope this helps

OK, this is slightly old news for people who've been following this stuff for a while, however, for the sake of clarity, and for the benefit of any relative newbies, and/or for any TV researchers out there (if these scum are going to get the media attention and publicity anyway, we might as well try to make sure the media get it right) - Casuals United is one-man-and-his-dog outfit run by life-long thug, ex-convict and knife-criminal Jeff Marsh (it's rumoured Jeff's recently moved to Spain, but he's from Barry, near Cardiff).

In fact Jeff Marsh was a senior EDL organiser, but kept a low profile within the EDL's publicly-visible operations on account of having been jailed for stabbing 2 Manchester United fans. Jeff Marsh's role within the EDL was (as the name Casuals United implies) 1st to use his connections at the dog-end of the 80s hooligan scene to try and pump-up the numbers at EDL demos, 2nd to create and organise the Welsh branch of the EDL - the Welsh Defence League.

In practice the Welsh Defence League consisted of hardcore Nazis, mostly drawn from the Swansea hooligan scene, so, while football rivalries meant Jeff didn't feature in the photos that emerged of the WDL making Nazi salutes etc (which had as much to with Jeff being scared of the Swansea "Jacks" as any real strategic discretion on Jeff's part) in practice the liaison between Jeff Marsh and the WDL Nazis was handled by casuals United organisers (and hardcore Nazis) Luke Pippen & Steven White.

The Casuals United blog changed its visual style after the WDL was exposed for being Nazi, however here's a screen-grab from the old-look Casuals blog which shows a WDL away-day being promoted on the Casuals blog (Luke Pippen to the far left of the photo, goatee + beer can - the datestamps on the cameras taking these photos is usually wrong btw), followed by another screen-shot from the Casuals United blog which shows Luke Pippen was organising trips to EDL demos on behalf of Jeff Marsh.

The main photo of the WDL making Nazi salutes is near-legendary by know, by has (to the best of my knowledge) been completely ignored by the TV, newspapers and mainstream media... perhaps because while EDL provocations continued to make sufficiently "good" copy, the media didn't want them killed-off just yet?

Thanks for the info but it's a moot point to an extent. Some people say Marsh is ex-NF, some people claim he isn't, he IS organising far-right activity NOW and that's the most important point, but the suggestion he might have gone along with a few black hooligans ...... does that prove he isn't racist? or does it prove he was too scared of the black guys to make an issue out of it?

Combat 18 took many of their dick-heads from the Chelsea Headhunters and a couple of the Headhunters were black! There's a photo on one Headhunter site showing a bunch of twats giving Nazi salutes - one of the people making the Nazi salute is black! There's a video (posted on You Tube by Searchlight's undercover video bloke) which purports to show "Combat 18" harassing a demo - in fact it was more Headhunters than C18, because although the video does show C18 prick (and knife murderer) Charlie Sergeant (as I recall wearing a Swastika T-shirt?!), Sergeant's standing next to a black guy, almost certainly another Headhunter. Ditto back in the early 80s there was a black hooligan who ran with the openly Nazi "British Movement" skinheads, and a handful of socially-desperate Asians and mixed-race hooligans were gullible enough to allow themselves to be used by the EDL. If anyone thinks Casuals United is anything less than racist just look at the way the Casuals blog selects stories about black and Asian criminals to smear immigrants and immigration generally, and sarcastically inverts the language of multiculturalism to describe serious crimes as acts of acts of cultural "enrichment". The entire schtick of the EDL and Casuals etc is to try to modernise the PR strategies used by the far-right, to adapt to a popular culture that no longer tolerates bigotry, and to use the superficial appearance of non-racism to sneak far-right activists into positions of influence within contemporary culture, but (while we still need to remain vigilant about these wankers) basically it's failed

For reasons that are too complex to explain here, but as stated above, it's unlikely any real Anti-Fascist would post here using the name Darcy, so (apologies if I'm wrong, but) my fear is it's possible the Darcy post might be a far-right hoax? Why might they do this?

One way the far-right try to trick Anti-Fascists into giving-out personal details, is to contact Anti-Fascists via social media, pretending to be journos looking for info on far-right groups, then ask the Anti-Fascists for their name/s, e-mail address/es, mobile number/s etc. If that's what's happening here, then Casuals United posting an item on their blog (which they have done) claiming journos are sniffing around would give credibility to this ruse.

So, if anyone claiming to be journos etc contact you via social media etc DON'T ever give any personal info. INSIST they provide you with an official e-mail address where they can be contacted as a named employee of a mainstream broadcaster, ie -

john.smith@channel5.com (even if they're freelancers, if they're serious, they'll be able to set this up).

Then go on-line using a web anonymising service, then register an anonymous e-mail address with a service like G-mail. It's said IP addresses can't be recovered from G-mail messages, but, just in case, ONLY register or use that G-mail account when you're accessing the web via an anonymous link. Then use that anonymous e-mail account to send

john.smith@bbc.co.uk (or whatever) a coded message (make up something like "LH&&^^X!"), explaining you'll only communicate with them if they send the exact code back to you via the social media they used to contact you in the first place. If they're unwilling or unable to do this, don't talk to them. Might sound like a bit of a fuss, but it's good to practice getting into good habits, and half an hour's extra effort could save you a whole ocean of grief if you get rumbled by Fascists.

Finally if any TV company asks for an interview, you can do this as a written Q&A via e-mail, and they can employ an actor to speak your words. Definitely don't meet in person or provide any info from which you could be identified, because even if (!) the journos do mean well, that doesn't mean they can be trusted not to gossip about or accidentally leak details from which you might be identified. If in doubt, always be too cautious (never not cautious enough).

I would imagine he has invented the whole tale up himself as he seems a total self egotist and most of you seem to of swallowed it without question.
He is hated by the Cardiff soul crew, and by the fash in swansea.
He does not live in Spain, I know that for fact as Im in contact with someone ITK via football.
He was never in the NF here, they were always minuscule around CCFC and those sympathetic were very few and well known.

Marsh runs Casuals (from Spain or England) in what he once laughably referred to as a "Command and Control" (more like "Cop-out Coward") capacity - he rarely ever turned up on demos at any stage (no change their then), and always did do stuff via texting and the internet. Yes the WDL is defunct now but Marsh founded it and its exposure as a Nazi group provides a devastating insight into this jerk and all his nasty little projects, including Casuals United

The point is that for years much of the media went easy on the EDL despite huge evidence it's a Nazi front, and it's important to keep placing such evidence before the public gaze (even if it turns out C4 aren't making a show)
